Persona Attributes

Wilson

Wilson: is a red diesel-electric hybrid chugger and one of the main protagonists of the series. He is an advanced apprentice trainee and works at Chug Patrol. Wilson is based on an EMD F-Unit, a line of diesel-electric locomotives produced between November 1939 and November 1960 by General Motors Electro-Motive Division and General Motors-Diesel Division.

koko

Koko: is a green and white electric engine. She is an advanced trainee and one of the main protagonists of the series. She is one of the passenger chuggers affiliated as a trainee for Speed Fleet. Koko is loosely based on the 0/200 Series Shinkansen, a Japanese bullet train. Koko has a large light on her front, which resembles a nose. The real 0/200 series does not have this feature.

Brewster

Brewster: is a strong, blue and yellow diesel chugger and one of the main protagonists of the series. He is an advanced trainee and works with the Chuggineers.is young, cautious, inexperienced, generous, and eager to do work whenever he can. He takes criticism very well and always uses it as a way to improve. He is always willing to help, and while he is teased for being slow, he doesn't mind it and focuses on his unique strengths. Brewster is based on the English Electric Type 5, later classified as British Rail (BR) Class 55, nicknamed 'Deltic', though being much smaller, having a Bo-Bo wheel arrangement, a single cab as opposed to a dual cab, and lacking buffers. Brewster has a large horn on top of his cab, as opposed to the real Deltics having two horns in front of their front windows.

Jackman

Jackman: is the chief of Chug Patrol as the chief of Chug Patrol and the bravest chugger on the tracks! With a twinkle in his eye and strong leadership skills, Jackman makes the perfect mentor for Wilson, who aspires to follow in his tracks! He is friends with Calley.Jackman is not based on any real-life locomotive, and is mostly a freelance design. However, his design is likely based on a Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) Intercity Materieel (ICM), nicknamed "Koploper" due to the "walk-though head" cab design. However, in the show, Jackman is diesel powered, whereas the real ICMs are electrically powered. Additionally, given to Jackman being a crane locomotive designed for rescue purposes, his concept is likely based on various heavy rescue vehicles that have cranes mounted on them.

calley

Calley: is a small shunting engine who used to handle any emergencies or accidents around Chuggington; she now serves as a first responder Chug Patroller. With the formation of Chug Patrol, a rescue squad lead by Jackman, Calley would become a Chug Patroller herself; complete in a whole new livery and style. After Wilson joined the team as an advanced trainee, Calley would take him to the countryside for lessons with the Chug Patrol wagons to help him become a better Chug Patroller. One of these times, while Calley took the wagons back to Chug Patrol Headquarters, Brewster became caught up in a sinkhole; luckily, by the time that she arrived at the scene, Wilson had rescued him.Calley is based on a Krauss-Maffei ML 500 C diesel hydraulic shunter which were built in Germany between 1954 and 1966. Tai is another member of this class.

asher

Asher:Asher is a red firefighting chugger and a member of Chug Patrol. In his first appearance, Blazin' Wilson, he was brought in specially by Jackman to give Wilson some advanced fire fighting training. But during training, Wilson used up all his water when he was on patrol. So the fire got so strong that even Asher couldn't fight it. Wilson then grabbed a wet blanket from Brewster and threw it over the fire. Asher and Jackman both praised Wilson for his idea. During the Track Dash Fun Race, he came back to temporarily run Chug Patrol while Jackman, Calley, and Wilson were racing. Asher is based on the Windhoff CargoSprinter, designed by Windhoff GmbH (Germany) in the mid-1990s. Him being a fire-fighting engine is most likely based off of the LRZ NT (Lösch- und Rettungszug Neue Technologie), developed by Windhoff and partners (2003) for Swiss rail operators Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon (BLS) and Swiss Federal Railways (SBB-CFF-FFS) for initial use on the Lötschberg Base Tunnel.

Payce

Payce: is a tunnel runner from Tootington who runs the High Speed Link. While the Chuggineers were building Brewster Bridge, Payce came to watch. She introduced herself to Brewster and explained that she was a tunnel runner. Brewster told her about Koko who was also interested in becoming a tunnel runner. She left Brewster when the Chuggineers called him over. Later, she came to see Hanzo and Koko and run on the Chug-a-Sonic Speed Track. She recorded a time of 6:00 clickety clacks. Koko was upset, but Payce was nice to her and said that she should have fun going fast. She then challenged her to a race, but Payce could only go backwards. She tried to make it fun for Koko and as a result, Koko broke her record of 9:00 clickety clacks and got a time of 8:00 clickety clacks. When the Tootington Tunnel was complete, she was the first to use the High Speed line to Tootington, carrying both the Mayor of Chuggington and Tootington. She took Koko on the High Speed link to Tootington while they dropped off containers there during the Iron Chuggers contest. On their return, they saw Brewster who needed to get to the contest as quickly as possible. They both coupled to him, and went as fast as they could to the contest where Brewster lead the Chuggineers to victory. Payce is likely based on the Siemens Velaro family, as evident by the design of her cab. is painted yellow, white and blue with dark blue lining and black underbody. Her window frames are grey and her windows are yellow-orange.

hanzo

Hanzo: is a white and blue bullet train who is the leader and mentor of Speed Fleet. Hanzo is the fastest chugger from Japan. Mentor to Koko, Hanzo is sleek, streamlined, and has a photographic memory. He believes there is no greater honour than transporting passengers quickly, but always safely, to their destination. Respectful, dedicated, and precise, Hanzo encourages fellow Speed Fleet chuggers to be the best they can be through rigorous practice. As well as always extremely punctual. Hanzo is most likely based on the Japanese Shinkansen E7/W7 Series, operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and West Japan Railway Company (JR West) on the Hokuriku Shinkansen and Joetsu Shinkansen lines in Japan. They ran Tokyo between Nagano, until Hokuriku Shinkansen until Kanazawa in 2014.

daley

Daley: is an express delivery chugger. He is one of the fastest chuggers in Chuggington. His motto is "Daley delivery careful and quick; Daley delivery there in a tic!” Once, Daley let Koko help out with his mail runs, but he soon found out that she could easily get ahead of herself, and be quick, but not careful. Another time during a huge ice storm, Daley stopped a dangerous crack in the track and stopped what could’ve been a bad accident. Nowadays, Daley allows Koko to do more of his mail runs, as she understands how to be a good delivery chugger.

Daley, sharing Payce's model, is most likely based on the Siemens Velaro family, as evident by the design of his cab. The concept of Daley being a high-speed courier train was most likely inspired by the SNCF TGV La Poste, which was designed for high speed freight and mail transportation. Daley delivery, careful and quick! Daley delivery, there in a tick! Daley is a high-speed courier chugger.

Zack

Zack:Solid! Zack is the leader of the Chuggineers. He was first, Rescue at Rocky Ridge. Zack joins Chuggington to head up the Chuggineers. This foreman is organised, hard-working and extremely safety conscious, making him the perfect leader of the Chuggineer crew and mentor to Brewster. Joined by his fellow team members Tyne and Fletch, this engineering team are responsible for all the heavy lifting, loading and building of bridges, tunnels, stations as well as laying track and making repairs. is based on an Electro-Motive Division (EMD) DDA40X "Centennial", built specifically for the Union Pacific Railroad (UP) from 1969 to 1971. As of today, Centennial 6936 is the only operational member of the class and is used in both excursion service and occasional revenue freight service. On 28 April 2022, Union Pacific has donated 6936 to the Railroading Heritage of Midwest America (RRHMA), based in Silvis, IL. Unlike the real EMD DDA40X, Zack lacks the front platform, has headlamps around the engine area, and has six wheels on both wheel-trucks instead of eight, making have the Co-Co configuration.

tyne

Tyne:is a member of the Chuggineers who first appeared in rescue at Rocky Ridge. She works with Brewster, Zack, Fletch, and shares a friendly rivalry with the latter. She is an expert at demolitions and gets excited whenever an explosion comes. Tyne appears to be loosely based on a hybrid cross of a Union Pacific Veranda GTEL and a Baldwin DR-6-4-1500. However, unlike either locomotive, she has the Co-Co configuration. "Okay, everyone! Cover your vents! This is gonna be loud!" Tyne preparing for a demolition

Rosa

Rosa:is a chugger with plenty of experience with her work in San Locomota! While she mainly specialises in construction work, she has experience and knowledge in multiple areas, such as using a map to plan a passenger route with how complicated the rail network back home was Rosa, sharing Skylar's model, is likely based on a rail ROBEL work crane truck, commonly used in Europe. She is also similar to a Railpower GG20B, hence her cab design. Rosa is a turquoise Spanish crane chugger from San Locomota who was introduced in the sixth season. Upon her arrival in Chuggington, she was recruited by Zack to become a Chuggineer, of which she now works as one.

Fletch

Fletch:Quality!

Fletcher, or Fletch for short, is a member of the Chuggineers with Zack, Tyne and Brewster. He first appeared in Rescue at Rocky Ridge. He handles the music-making of the Chuggineers to make the job fun. Fletch is likely to be based upon a GE C30-7 (specifically painted as Burlington Northern) with the two yellow safety beacons instead of one. He also seems to resemble an Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD) GP30 as evident by the roof design.

harry and hamish

Harry and hamish:"We're mighty and tough-" "-Always strong enough! Harry and Hamish's catchphrase

Harry and Hamish are twin orange and green diesels who work at the Docks and were introduced in the fifth season episode, Koko Express. Both chuggers are arguably the strongest in Chuggington. Harry and Hamish's basis exact is unknown. However, they appear to resemble a General Electric (GE) U50, evident by the cab and hood section, but also seem to look similar to a Union Pacific Veranda GTEL as evident by the hood and end section. However, unlike either locomotive, Harry and Hamish have been scaled down to from a B-B B-B to a Bo-Bo-Bo and appear to be equipped with dual cabs. They also have a slight resemblance to a BR Class 50 and a CIE Class 071. Harry and Hamish are hard workers, but they both enjoy having a laugh and poking fun at the other Chuggers. Once, during a heavy ice storm, the two were unable to haul the diesel tankers to the depot, and in the end only delivered them with the help of Jackman, Asher, Koko, Pete and Olwin.

Some time after, Wilson overheard Hamish talking with Morgan in the Repair Shed about catching a ship, leading to him believing that Hamish was leaving Chuggington. After multiple attempts of stopping him which eventually lead to Hamish crashing at the quarry, Wilson, Brewster and Koko found out that the only thing leaving Chuggington on the ship was Hamish’s containers filled with apples that would soon be rotten.

emery

Emery:"This chugger is ready to depart." Emery exiting a station

Emery is a silver electric passenger chugger who runs the standard transportation loop around Chuggington alongside Decka. Emery is of a freelance design and is not based on a specific prototype. However, he does seem to loosely resemble the underground subway trains that operate in the United Kingdom, and he also resembles a LACMTA Metro train. Emery might as well be Chuggington's biggest jokester- though on occasion, he can take things too far, as a portion of his jokes are not in very good taste. Despite this, Emery does mean well, but is rarely encouraging, and not the best chugger to be around if something is wrong.

That doesn't mean Emery doesn't have a heart. He still cares deeply for his friends and will try his best to give them the support they would need to complete their task.

Even if a lot of Emery's actions can lead to trouble, he knows when he's done something wrong and is willing to make amends if possible. Despite his faults, Emery is always up to being helpful, and at the end of the day, a great friend. After Emery finished training, he was put on full-time passenger duty, as he was built for that job. During his run, Emery would occasionally come across other chuggers, like the time he teased Wilson for his clunky sound. Emery would also later take part in the Chugger Championship, almost having a collision to a broken down Wilson.Being a passenger chugger with experience, Emery tried to help out Wilson run a little more smoothly to prepare him for his test; unfortunately he had to be taken away for his duty.

Sometime after, Emery would get the role of the narrator for a Chuggington documentary; however, Emery would make vulgar comments about certain chuggers throughout the film, promoting a bad reception. Feeling bad, Emery apologized to those he had embarrassed due to the documentary. Not to long afterwards, an inspector was coming to check out the Depot. To help everyone to ge

Eddie

Eddie:"Aw, that means a lot mate!" Eddie talking to Hodge

Eddie is a young mechanic in Chuggington who works along side his partner, Hodge. The two do maintenance work along tracks and fix a few areas that damaged along the line. Eddie is eager to do things. He works in his own workshop near the chugwash. Eddie can be cheeky at times and sometimes cracks a joke. However, he is also friendly, very helpful, and not afraid to be firm with misbehaving chuggers when need be. His partner's name is Hodge, with whom he is best friends with.

Eddie doesn't fix chuggers - instead he repairs mechanical devices and various electrical items around Chuggington. Eddie is sometimes late, as revealed in Late Again Eddie.

Eddie wore a blue T-shirt with an oil stain, a navy zipper-less vest, and a yellow cap in the first season. From the second season onwards, Eddie now wears a reflective orange safety vest around his waist instead of a zipper-less vest.

frostini

Frostini's:Frostini's catchphrase "Magnifico!"

Frostini is an Italian ice cream chugger who works at the Ice Cream Factory in Chuggington. Frostini's job is serving ice cream for free to all the people inhabiting Chuggington and being in charge of everything at the Ice Cream Factory - including creating the ice cream flavours. He is very famous for having the best ice cream flavours in town and is often seen around in the Suburbs serving to children[2] or giving his ice cream away in a county fair.[3] Sometimes, Frostini would examine the trainees for them to earn their ice cream badges.

As Frostini is one chugger, he often needs some assistance serving his ice cream. Most times, he calls in Wilson, who he sometimes refers to as his "special helper." Other trainees would also come in and help as they work together in shifts to deliver the ice cream to their destination on time.

One day. Mr. Knot, the assistant to the Mayor of Chuggington, came in to the Ice Cream Factory to ask Frostini for a special new flavour for the mayor's banquet; however, the initial ice cream Frostini made had to be redone as the mayor's wife was allergic to cheese. Wilson, who was trying to earn his Helper Badge, accidentally broke the Flav-o-Matic, increasing Frostini's stress. Eventually, Frostini was able to come up with a brand new flavour made of fruits found thrown at Wilson from his delivery at the Safari Park.He would later create another new flavour for the current mayor, Mayor Pullman, with the help of Koko and Old Puffer Pete and earn a Seal of Approval.

Some time later, before the hottest day of the year, a meltdown occurs at the Ice Cream Factory, shutting down all power - including the cooling system. To save the ice cream from melting, the trainees took most of the ice cream in refrigerator cars, while Frostini and Speedy went to the Ice Caves to fetch some cold to save the factory. The two argued a lot but soon came to a mutual agreement with each other, especially after

decka

Decka:"Decka-lightful!" Decka's catchphrase

Decka is a double-decker transit engine based in Chug Town who was introduced in the third series. After coming to Chuggington, Decka was consistently seen performing her passenger runs in Chug Town and enjoying chatting and especially gossiping with other chuggers. Due to this, she was one of the chuggers who spread the rumour about the moon dance happening at the Safari Park further - almost causing the event to be ruined, and like everybody else, feeling instant regret about it. Around the same time, she also attended Piper's welcoming ceremony at the Depot. Between the third and fourth seasons, her passenger route was expanded noticeably; now covering the Safari Park and the countryside stations too.

In a script that was used on the back of a trading card, Decka would have broken down in a flooded tunnel and be ceremoniously rescued by Action Chugger. It is unknown if this story was made specifically for marketing or if it had been a cut script, because Decka was supposed to be given a more proper introduction during the original vision of the third series.

Decka is loosely based on a Blackpool Heritage double-decker tram.

dr. Gosling

Dr. Gosling:is the vet, who lives in a house not far from the Safari Park. He is responsible for checking the animals' health conditions. Dr. Gosling wears a light olive green shirt with a Safari Park badge placed on top, along with mossy green jeans.

Dr. ling

Dr. Ling:"The wonders of modern technology!" Dr. Ling talking to Wilson and Emery

Dr. Ling is a scientist who resides in Chuggington. She is always coming up with new ideas and inventions for the city economy. Her inventions are ambitious, but she sometimes makes products with design faults, for example, a defective chug booster and solidifying chug wash soap.

Dr. Ling wears the same green outfit, as well as a purple ribbon on her head. She has a rather calm personality.

Captain Charlie

Captain Charlie: is the captain of at least two cargo ships that frequent Chuggington Docks who only appeared in the fifth season. Captain Charlie is friendly and always on time with his deliveries to the Docks. He keeps everything right on schedule and is good friends with the Docks crew.

action chugger

Action chugger:"I'm helpful, I'm strong, I get the job done!" Action Chugger's catchphrase

Action Chugger is a yellow and brown super jet-powered chugger who lives in the distant suburbs of Chuggington. He is a movie actor and part time rescuer. In his first appearance, Action Chugger surprised the trainees at the Countryside Drive-in after the three had completed a sign-reading test. Soon afterwards, Action Chugger would take Zephie to said Drive-In for an interview about a mobile rail vehicle made by Morgan, but accidentally crushed it upon arrival; despite this, Zephie having a ride with Action Chugger would make headlines on its own. Action Chugger took the King of Buffertonia to Safari Park after Old Puffer Pete became caught up in a rock landslide; additionally, he would teach a lesson about rescuing to the trainees- and later that day, he would rescue Wilson after he used one of the jet packs to have a go at flying.

Sometime later, Action Chugger would break down along the blue line after getting a branch stuck in one of his jets; luckily, Brewster, who was on recycling duty at the time, managed to get him back on the rails. Around this time, Action Chugger also rescued Wilson from a snowdrift, brought Hodge into space to fix the satellite that he had tipped over, and fall victim to Dr. Ling's soap that hardened when it dried.

Action Chugger would also put on a disguise as a regular chugger for one of his films (with his lack of knowledge causing him to be trapped in a rock landslide at the Loading Yard), host the Iron Chuggers competition between the steam team and the Chuggineers, and finally recruit Brewster and Zephie as his part-time sidekicks. The trainees would also attempt to give Action Chugger a day off as requested by Mayor Pullman, but after a couple of mishaps having to do with Zack and an overpowered motor, the trainees learnt that rescuing is what makes Action Chugger feel relaxed. Action Chugger is of a mostly freelance design, although he

hoot and toot

Hoot and toot:"Hoot and Toot are ready to scoot!" Hoot and Toot's catchphrase

Hoot and Toot are two conjoined twin diesel-electric trainees who were introduced in the second season. They are the main pilot shunters located at the Depot. In their first appearance, Hoot and Toot would learn how to use a turntable; when Calley was called out in an emergency, Brewster was put in charge of looking after them. As one could expect from the twins, the two ran away, soon becoming trapped in the underground tunnels. Using the advice that Brewster had given them on turntables, Hoot and Toot were able to emerge from the tunnels unscathed. Around this time, Hoot and Toot would leave the Depot to help haul Harrison out of a snow drift, and attempt to launch a meteorite back into space (only for it to come back down again), causing a dangerous chase around Chuggington.

Toot, not wanting to do track inspection with her brother, would lie about an illness to get out of doing it- nearly having Morgan take her engine out. Hoot and Toot would make an abysmal mess around the Depot in an attempt to earn another gold wheel, and assisted Brewster in moving the demolisher for the Chuggineers. The twins would additionally observe both the Track Dash Fun Race and the Iron Chuggers competition.

Some time before this, Toot would take a disliking to a new trainee, Piper, who was going to be sleeping in the twins' berth so that she could be catered for by the trainees sleeping next to her. Toot explained herself to Hoot, saying that they were on their own when they first arrived in Chuggington, with Hoot responding that it was that way because they had each other. Realizing her mistake, Toot apologized to Piper and the twins soon befriended her.

Sometime by the fifth season, the Twins are promoted to advanced training along with Wilson, Brewster and Koko.

Some time later, Hoot and Toot, along with Piper and Zephie, would become Junior Chug Patrollers after rescuing Cormac from his faulty cra

Hodge

Hodge:Hodge's catchphrase "T'riffic!"

Hodge is a custom-built one of a kind chugger who lives in Chuggington. His name derives from the fact that he was built from a hodge-podge of parts - refurbished metal from the scrapyard. Hodge isn't built like many chuggers; he was built with recycled parts, making a lot of his material hard to find or repair.

Hodge was originally a trainee with Zephie, who is still a good friend of his to this day. After finishing training, Hodge began working with Eddie, a young mechanic who then lived with his parents. Some time after this, Hodge, with the help of Wilson, Brewster and Koko would help Eddie find a home in Chuggington after him showing up late for work each day started to become a problem. Wilson would later assist Hodge in fixing a broken piece of track on the yellow line; after some mishaps (mostly due to the lack of cooperation between them both), the two could replace the track before Eddie arrived.Hodge isn't built like many chuggers; he was built with recycled parts, making a lot of his material hard to find or repair.

A while later, Wilson once gave Hodge a big scare, causing him to accidentally dismantle one of the junction boxes in the Depot. He kept it a secret a while until disruption started to occur and he later confessed to Eddie and Vee about the incident. Hodge would then challenge to find out who can be the mos

Irving

Irving:"Tipping… tipping… tipping…" Irving pouring recycling

Irving is a dark red diesel engine who is in charge of the Recycling Yard, handling all the recycling chores around Chuggington. When Irving was a trainee, he took a test to earn a recycling badge. At the same time, the then young man named Mr. Simpkins was also taking a test so that he could test others in the future. Irving passed his test and was so overjoyed, he tooted his horn when he shouldn't have, which startled Simpkins, causing him to run off screaming for his mother, accidentally knocking over his examiner in the process. To prevent Simpkins from failing his test, Irving owned up to his mistake.

After completing training, Irving took care of all the recycling and garbage, cleaning the tracks with his sweepers and working alone at the Recycling Yard most of his time. Sometime later, Irving reunited with Mr. Simpkins after learning Koko had failed one of his tests. After confronting Simpkins and reminding him about his own mistakes, Koko was given another chance.

Irving would take place in few events; he once participated in the Chugger Championship race, which he did not win, acted as a bouncer for Action Chugger's movie event and was a part of Harrison's team for a Chug of War.

One day, Irving would also have to take a day-long trip to Tootington, leaving Koko in charge of the Recycling Yard for the day. Koko, enlisting Wilson to help her but not knowing how to be a good leader, ended up causing the yard to become a total mess - making Irving speechless of anger and disappointment. However, the trainees made up for their mistake by cleaning the yard during the following night. Irving is based on a Beilhack Rotary Snowblower, minus the plow on the front and modified with two sweepers.

Morgan

Morgan:"Let's get you on the rotator, and take a look." Morgan talking to a broken-down chugger

Morgan is the chief engineer mechanic in Chuggington. Morgan is quiet and softspoken. Unlike Eddie, he is often seen repairing chuggers. He normally helps out around the main depot. He is very mature and caring for the chuggers. He most often uses the ChugScan and the rotator.

Morgan is dressed in a light grey button-up shirt with the sleeves being rolled up, a pair of greige-coloured overalls, and a brown belt going around his waist.

Skipper stu

Skipper stu:Skipper Stu's catchphrase "Stellar!"

Skipper Stu is a blue diesel who runs the Docks. He was introduced in the fifth season. His assistants are Harry, Hamish, Russ and Tai. Skipper Stu runs a tight ship as Dock Master! He’s controller of the dock crane and organizes the loading and unloading of ships and sorting containers.

Skipper Stu's exact basis is unknown. However, he appears to resemble a EMD G12 with a shortened nose, evident by the cab design and the inclusion of buffers.

vee

Vee:"Time to wake up, Chuggington!" Vee's catchphrase

Vee is the head of the railway department in Chuggington. She also serves as its main announcer. Vee is the main announcer in Chuggington who informs the engines on what to do. She has a pole all over Chuggington and can be answered just by calling her name. It's Vee's job to make sure all the chuggers receive a lot of working experience, especially the trainees.

Vee is usually very organized, but when one delay occurs, it can mess up her entire schedule, such as the time when the track on the Yellow Line shut down or when there was a diesel shortage in the Working Wheels Yard, putting all diesel-powered trains to a halt.

Being one with the rest of Chuggington, Vee is powered through junction boxes. One day, Wilson gave Hodge a fright, which caused him to damage one of the bozes. This caused the whole Depot, and Vee herself, to go haywire and make irrational controls and decisions. Luckily, Eddie was able to get things in order after Hodge confessed what happened.

There had been many events held by Vee: races, ceremonies, fairs, parades and many more. Most recently, Vee, along with Mayor Pullman, announced August 31st to be Chuggington Day, a day in which everyone appreciates what a special place Chuggington is and learns the values of "training together." Vee has the job of being the main announcer in Chuggington, meaning she needs to organize and inform the chuggers on what to do. Vee has a warm voice and has the important role of keeping Chuggington running on time and on schedule. She has loudspeaker poles placed almost everywhere, and in the depot they can be interchanged or moved around on various blue pedestals.

When Vee speaks, colourful lights flicker to the sounds of her voice. Though it is rare to see them change colours, if they do, it means Vee is feeling a powerful emotion.

Vee is a motherly, caring figure with a soft spot for the trainees; always ensuring they understand her instructions and a

zephie

Zephie:Zephie's catchphrase "Yippee!

Zephie is a young scissor-lift chugger that works in Chuggington who is often used as a lift for maintenance and small deliveries. Zephie was initially a trainee with Hodge; however, it seems that her capabilities stopped her from participating in most training sessions, evident by the fact that she cannot pull heavy loads well. As a "fully-fledged" chugger, Zephie runs errands for Morgan and Lori while they are busy, for things such as delivering tools or fetching lunch.

Zephie once participated in the Chugger Championship, but did not win.She was also briefly fitted with a siren, but caused numerous false alarms after deliberately trying to find something that would call for an emergency, ultimately having the siren taken away from her. After again tipping over with nothing but a small bell to call out for help, Zephie promised to use her siren wisely.Around this time, Zephie assisted Rag Barnstaple with his news report about Morgan's new mobile rail vehicle. She however accidentally kept Rag's press pass with her - a pass that allows him to enter events and interview. Zephie arranged an meeting with Action Chugger and even went along with him on a rescue, but lost Rag's pass along the way. Thankfully though, a story was able to be published as Zephie explained the whole event.A little time later, after feeling doubtful about herself, Zephie - in secret - attempted to help Brewster with his jobs, but ultimately tipped over while coming down the steep mountain.

After being showed some pictures of Lori's nephew's birthday party, Zephie was inspired to have her face painted. This in turned, got Koko jealous, leading with a full-on "beauty" competition. Zephie also had some trouble with bees, but with the help of Speedy, they were able to create a new bee hive for them to live in.She later get herself in another competition with Wilson attempting to get as many chuggers in their club as possible. This rivaly was quickly conclude

mayor of tootington

Mayor of tootington:is a representitive of Tootington. After Brewster broke a whole new record delivering wood to Tootington and back with the Chug Booster, the Mayor decided to present him with an award for the fastest run to Tootington ever.

Some time later, he, along with Mayor Pullman, together opened the tunnel for Tootington's brand new High Speed Link.

The Mayor is fitted with a purple shirt and dark green tie with a grey blazer on top. on his shoulders is a huge gold necklace representing his attributions on Tootington.

mayor pullman

Mayor pullman:"Let's make some noise for the most special place I know!" Mayor Pullman beginning Chuggington Day

Mayor Pullman is the current Mayor of Chuggington. She took over from a previous male mayor who was mentioned in the first season. Mayor Pullman is proud to run the city of Chuggington, always coming up with or initiating new plans and campaigns to better the town. These plans range from documentaries focused on the town for a Mayor's Convention to a "Beautify" Campaign to brighten up the parks. Mayor Pullman is energetic and always on the scene for major events in the city, often starting off special events and ceremonies throughout town. The chuggers are always keen to please her whenever she's on the scene, and it's always an honor for them to receive a special award or visit from them; such awards being given include a Seal of Approval for Frostini's new "Maple Apple Dapple" flavor, "The Extra Mile" award when Koko's speed prevented a complete meltdown at the Ice Cream Factory, and Action Chugger's many awards for heroics.

Mayor Pullman usually wears a lavender dress with a golden necklace around it, along with a red bow in her hair and silver high heeled sandals. During the third and fourth seasons, she would wear a light green dress.

King of buffertonia:The King of Buffertonia is a king who sometimes visits Chuggington and has been taken on tours by many chuggers. He also has a son who serves as the prince. The King of Buffertonia once came to Chuggington for a tour of the Safari Park. On his way, Old Puffer Pete was caught in a rockslide up on Rocky Ridge Mountain. Action Chugger was able to rescue them, but not in time for the actually tour. Once the King got to the Safari Park, Mtambo constructed an improved nighttime safari tour - now official by royal decree.

A little while later, the King joins Mayor Pullman and others on a special Speed Fleet transported by Koko. The chugger that was meant to take the tour was already gone by the time Koko arrive. Surprisingly, the journey getting there was just as exciting and everyone, including the King was fascinated by the wonders and history of Chuggington. The King of Buffertonia is dressed with light purple shirt on top with a thick magenta vest. Tying it together is the big blue cape with gold linings. He also wears a bright gold belt and large crown with red, blue and green jewels.

howie

Howie: is in charge of the Working Wheels Yard. He dispatches the crews to get the chuggers clean. He usually speaks over the intercom system and wears a headset.Howie is the man in charge of the Working Wheels Yard. When a chugger needs a clean up, he calls for his crew and washes them right up. Howie can also be a bit conscious at times. One time, when dark clouds started to form in the sky, Howie trusted his gut and closed the roof. He also gives out the schedule of what some of the chuggers do for the day and gives a little advise for the journey.

Howie wears a black shirt with blue, orange and white lining- along with the Working Wheels Yard logo on the right side of his shirt. He also wears a headset to what he uses to talk to his crew members.

Chatsworth

Chatsworth's:Chatsworth's catchphrase "Toot toot!"

Chatsworth is a white diesel chugger that handles a majority of goods trains in Chuggington. Chatsworth was initially a trainee with Harrison; the two generally perform the same jobs and still sleep next to each other at the Roundhouses.

Passed out after a long day's of work, Chatsworth longed a nice nap, but learns that's going to be harder than he expected with the trainees making noise, Harrison's loud snoring, which turned out to be rocks in his tank, that keep Chatsworth, and the rest of Chuggington awake all night long. Not long after, while pulling a train of hopper cars down the mountain, Chatsworth's rear car's wheels jammed, subsequently setting it on fire. Luckily, Brewster noticed Chatsworth's cry for help and he was able to put the fire out with his car. Chatsworth, along with many other chuggers commemorated Brewster for his heroism.

In a competition to clean the mines, Chatsworth, and many other chuggers took part in a Chug of War; Speedy's team - the team Chatsworth was on - ended up winning.During the wintertime, Chatsworth, with the assistants of Hoot and Toot, gave aid to many chuggers to increase their chances of removing Harrison out of a snowbank.

Some time later, Chatsworth had to deal with the Underground Tunnels covered in grime, ruining his paintwork. Wilson accidentally filled the Chug Wash with dirty liquid, making Chatsworth even more filthy. Eventully, he was back to his usual self again. In preparation for an ice storm, Chatsworth was assigned with spraying the Spur Line with anti-ice to keep the tracks warm; Koko, who had accidentally sprayed the line with water - which would cause the tracks to freeze up - told Chatsworth that it had already been dealt with. Emery, who was taking Eddie back to the Depot, became stranded on the line due to the frozen tracks; thankfully, the two would be rescued by Calley.

Chatsworth would go on to host and direct one of the annual rolling stock s

old puffer pete

Old puffer pete:"Rattling rivets!" Old Puffer Pete's catchphrase

Peter, effectively known as Old Puffer Pete or simply Pete, is an elderly steam chugger and the oldest chugger in Chuggington. Old Puffer Pete grew up in what is now Old Town; during his trainee years, he was very similar to Wilson, finding it hard to pay attention and not realizing his own special talents.Pete would go through all sorts of fun in his younger days; giving out ice cream to passengers, participating to stories on Radio Chuggington and become first ever chugger to win the Chugtastic Games.

Pete would hang out with some of his closest friends who still talks to today, Olwin and Speedy McAllister. Another close friend of his, Cannonball Cooper, would sometimes tell stories about the legendary Spooky Chugger, a tale to this day. When Old Town closed down, Pete, along with Olwin and Speedy, were relocated to current Chuggington, where he was presumably modified into a tank engine; despite this, he still held on to his tender, Terry.

Pete would often help out the younger chuggers, like the time he found his old ice cream car and lend it to Wilson for his ice cream badge,or helping out Koko get out of a jam with some squirrels. He also took part in a documentary of Chuggington and take the King of Buffertonia on his way for his tour of the Safari Park.

As Pete grew older, he became more prone to breaking down; once, his firebox became worn out, but due to the fact that the mold was broken years ago, it was very hard to find a new one.He was even once misunderstood that he was going to be sent for scrap; having worried Brewster and Zephie do his jobs to make him feel more up to date.Thankfully, the rumour was about his tender car, Terry, who was also eventually saved.

Around sometime later, Pete would have his one hundred and fiftieth anniversary celebration, performed by Wilson, Brewster and Koko, who spent all night practicing to not let anyone down.

A little after Pete would teach Harriso

the Magnificent mysterioso

The Magnificent Mysterioso:is a magician who puts on a lot of magic shows. The Magnificent Mysterioso had a very special magic planned to premiere in Chug Town, but due to a misunderstanding of a fire from Emery, the show was unfortunately cancelled. To make it up to him, Emery decided to be a special guess on the show to be a part of a disappearing act.

Posters of Mysterioso can be seen all around the city, specifically in Chuggington Central Station.

Magnificent Mysterioso is dressed in a dark blue suits with a spotted purple vest and a white shirt. He has on a matching coloured bow tie to his vest and matching top hat to his suit.

Mtambo

Mtambo:"Big and small, short and tall, on my journey's I have seen them all!" Mtambo

Mtambo is a yellow African tourist chugger who works at the Safari Park. He has been all around the world and knows many facts about animals. Mtambo in his early days would travel around the world to many places - from Zimbabwe to Antarctica. During his travels on safari, he once came nose to nose with a rhinoceros that began to charge, but Mtambo honked his horn so loud it ran away. Deep in the jungle, Mtambo raced a jaguar, and it ran out of breath before he did. There was also a time he was lost in the desert, and along came a camel that guided him out.

Eventually Mtambo stayed in Chuggington and became the Safari Park tour guide; showing people around the park and teaching them everything about animals. Because he is a well-traveled chugger, he is always keen to tell the trainees some exciting stories of his adventures. There are times when Mtambo would assist the trainees with training dealing with tours and animal activities. One of Mtambo's other jobs is to handle animals when they run away or have escaped.

After realising he has told almost every story about his world travels, Mtambo was eager to have an exciting adventure like he once had. Did so unexpectedly, after a monkey ran off with Freddy's camera, a traveler Mtambo met at the park station. Not long afterwards, Mtambo gave a special night tour - it was meant for the daytime - for the King of Buffertonia. The king ended up liking the night tour and declared it an official service. Along with Koko, Mtambo would assist Dr. Gosling in filming a rare bat dance that happens during a full moon.

Mtambo would also take part in activities outside of the Safari Park, such as the Chugger Championships, the Parade of Lights and the Chugtastic Games.Although Mtambo is not based on any actual locomotive, he does loosely resemble various safari camper vans. Specifically those with pop-top roof mechanisms.

Harrison

Harrison:"Mind your bumpers, coming through." Harrison's catchphrase

Harrison is a blue diesel-electric hybrid locomotive who pulls freight and passenger trains in Chuggington. He often pulls rail-tours, showing people the many perspectives of the railway. Harrison was initially a trainee with Chatsworth; the two still sleep next to each other at the Roundhouses and generally perform the same jobs.

Harrison usually takes the daily night shift to Tootington to import goods, but after he broke down during the night, Wilson, Brewster and Koko were assigned to take the load the next evening. Even with Koko becoming immobile due to a power cut, leading to Wilson having to pull her back to the Depot, Brewster was able to get the entire night shift to Tootington on time. Some time after this, he participated in the Chugger Championship race, believing he won, only to see Old Puffer Pete ahead and passing the finish line.

At some later point, Harrison was sent back to the Training Yard after failing horrendously to listen to Puffer Pete's advice, during a test run to see if Harrison was fit for pulling the Royal Carriage. Harrison demonstrated his reckless moves to the trainees, leading Wilson (who idolizes him) to imitate him, nearly causing a derailment. Because of this, Harrison saw the error in his ways and promised to be better, especially around younger chuggers. Later that day, Harrison pulled the Prince of Buffertonia around the Depot for all to see.

Harrison is often known to volunteer in many events, even things that don't end up the way they plan. When no one other than Speedy volunteers to clean the Rocky Ridge Mine, he proposed a Chug of War, with Harrison as the opposing competitor. Harrison led his team to be as strong as possible, but eventually lost due to the loss of energy from practicing all day. Not long after, Harrison was supposed to host the annual Chug Quiz, but due to a malfunction in his voicebox, the role was substituted to Hodge. He also dem

Lori

Lori:"I can help with that, Morgan!" Lori talking to Morgan

Lori is an Irish brunette haired girl who works in the Repair Shed with Morgan. Lori works in the Repair Shed for work experience and also attends college to learn about locomotive maintanence. She often helps out keeping the chuggers clean. She also gives the chuggers their badges at the end of every Badge Quest.

She is very hard working and loves to give a hand whenever she can. Lori also enjoys hanging out with the trainees, especially Zephie and Koko. Giving little designs or helping them out in a jam, she's always there.

Cormac

Cormac:Cormac struggling with the crane "Oh, my giddy engine!"

Cormac is a forklift chugger who works at the Drop and Load Yard. In his first appearance, Cormac was introduced as the chugger responsible for using the Mega Chug Crane at the Drop and Load Yard, working there alongside Old Puffer Pete. He helped Brewster take the last section of the Tootington Tunnel to the worksite. The load was very wide, so they had to use two flatbeds and work side by side. However, Cormac got tired, and as they went around a bend, the tunnel section fell off and rolled down the hill. Brewster and Cormac had to chase it and then catch it just at the right moment. Then they happily took the tunnel section to the worksite, and the tunnel was complete. He was present during the Iron Chuggers contest and set up the wagons with the weight that Speedy and Zack wanted.

Sometime between seasons 5 and 6, Cormac became the sole engine in charge of the Drop and Load Yard after Old Puffer Pete was moved to work at Rocky Ridge Quarry. Around this time, Tai was temporarily put in charge of the yard after Cormac broke his prongs. However, Cormac's long and complex list of instructions was too much for Tai to follow, resulting in her organizing the yard in her own way, much to Cormac's dismay. The two ended up having a container stacking competition - causing a total chaos in the yard. Cormac later felt bad for instantly dismissing Tai's way of doing things and ended up making amends with her. Although Cormac is mostly of a freelance design, he appears to be based on a British Rail MPV (Multi-purpose vehicle), modified with forklift prongs and the ability to spin 360 degrees. His back flatbed could have been inspired from various maintenance crane engines.

piper

Piper:"I'm a little bit wobbly on my wheels." Piper on her first day in Chuggington

Piper is an orange cab-forward steam engine who first appeared in the third season. On her first day, she was crowded by all the chuggers as Olwin and Old Puffer Pete arrived with her, and Morgan and Lori steamed her up for the first time. When she started working, Toot was given the job of touring her around Chuggington. Toot wasn't happy with Piper as Piper was taking her space in the Trainee Roundhouse, so went off quickly so Piper would get lost in the depot. As soon as Hoot came back from a run, Toot realized how mean she had been and quickly befriended her. Piper announced to the twins that she wanted to stay in the same roundhouse as Hoot and Toot.

Later, she was given her training plate and Old Puffer Pete gives her her first lesson: How to use her coupler. She struggled with it and thought that she would never be able to do it, but soon learned how to uncouple and decouple. Later, Wilson was put on duty watching her while Pete went up to the Quarry, bringing her to the Chug Wash and got covered in pink bubbles. She ran away from Wilson and tagged along with Chatsworth, also bound for the Quarry. When she realized she couldn't stop on the mountain, Wilson grabbed her and stopped on the Chug Catcher (which he had been struggling with previously). Skylar comments that "Everyone has learned something today, even little Piper!". Upon returning to the Depot, Piper was given training wheels until she was fully ready to work beyond the depot.

Whilst the Chuggineers were building a tunnel, she helped Brewster push a tunnel borer to the worksite with Zephie, Hodge, Hoot and Toot. She also came to watch the competing chuggers at the track dash fun race, with Old Puffer Pete. Along with Speedy McAllister, Olwin and Old Puffer Pete, she was due to take part in the Iron Chuggers contest, but got stranded from the group due to a red signal, and derailed when she tried to catch up to the

russ

Russ:is a yellow reach stacker chugger who was introduced in the fifth season. He works at the Docks and handles the sorting and lifting of containers. He also helps Harry and Hamish haul ships into the docks. Although Russ is not based on any actual locomotive, he takes inspiration from a reach stacker, more notably the Liebherr LRS 645 due to the "curved boom" design and mechanism.

Rag barnstaple

Rag Barnstaple:is a journalist for the Chuggington Life newspaper.Rag, as a journalist is always trying to get a good story. One day, Zephie is given the task to take Rag Barnstaple and Snap to interview Action Chugger for his new movie. However, Zephie accidentally loss his press pass, not allowing Rag to get in for his interview. Rag did however get a much more interesting story about Zephie flying around with Action Chugger.

Another time, Emery was assisted to give a ride to Rag prepare him for the Magnificent Mysterioso's big show. Due to Emery's obsession of being in the paper, he ruined Mysterioso's original show, but manged to get in the paper by making up for it by being in the show itself.

Rag is always willing to get a good story and is very proud of his job because of it. The moment something catches his eye, he'll find a way to make it interesting and pop to the readers on paper. He tends to break down when things don't go his way, but he manages to find a loophole make up for it.Rag is always willing to get a good story and is very proud of his job because of it. skylar

Skylar:"It's crane time!" Skylar's catchphrase

Skylar is a yellow rail crane who was introduced in the third season. He is a cool crane chugger who has graduated from the teacher-training academy.Skylar was sent to Chuggington because of Dunbar's temporary retirement to explore the world. At first Brewster wasn't fond of Skylar because he missed Dunbar, whilst Wilson and Koko did. Soon Brewster got used to him. He regularly taught the trainees. After Dunbar's unexplained return Skylar quit teaching the Trainees. It is possible that he could just be teaching Hoot, Toot, and Piper. Whether he's teaching or not is unknown. Whatever he's doing, he's still working in Chuggington.

Skylar is likely based on a rail ROBEL work crane truck, commonly used in Europe. He is also similar to a Railpower GG20B, hence his cab design. Rosa shares the same possible basis.

Tai

Tai:is a purple trainee shunter introduced in the sixth season. She originally worked at the freight yard of Zheng-Chu, and now works with Skipper Stu and Hamish at the Docks.Tai originated from the foreign city of Zheng-Chu, in which she worked at the large freight yard where a number of container goods are sorted daily. At some point prior to her introduction, Tai would move to the Chuggington harbour, to assist Skipper Stu and Hamish with their work.

While on an important shunting job, Tai ended up damaging her exhaust pipe while trying to move a heavy container of anchors. Upon seeing Hanzo's skills and another accident with a container and sand wagon colliding, Tai decided to take on his offer to learn "the three ways of the track", those being breathing, balance and focus. Despite having a little trouble learning the skills, she soon impressed the other chuggers at the Docks by moving the containers with ease.

After some consideration from Skipper Stu, Tai was sent out on her first deliveries around Chuggington. Unfortunately, her lack of knowledge on the routes lead to her being late with the ice for Frostini, a number of parts to repair the CPHQ turntable that had begun spinning out of control (with Asher trapped on it), and a timer for the Chug-a-Sonic Speed Track. Wilson and Koko would attempt to help her by painting the tracks with coloured lines to help her, but they ultimately washed away due to a rainstorm while delivering beams to repair the Rocky Ridge Rickety Bridge. Realizing she truly needed directions, she returned to the Docks and was offered help from Brewster, who accompanied her to help deliver the beams and repair the bridge.

As a result of becoming tired of constantly being stuck at the Docks, Tai would accompany the Wilson, Brewster and Koko with their duties for the day. Additionally, Tai would team up with Rosa to compete against Emery and Hodge during the Rip Roaring Relay Race, of with the former two would win.

olwin

Olwin:"Come along my little chug-a-chugs." Olwin to the trainees

Olwin is an old, dark green, streamlined steam locomotive that works in Chuggington.Olwin initially lived in what is now Old Town with the other steam chuggers, being a trainee with Old Puffer Pete. Once Old Town was abandoned, Olwin, along with Pete and Speedy, would be relocated to current Chuggington,

During her time, Olwin would eventually become a very wise and kind chugger. With the arrival of new trainees, Olwin would act as something of a mentor for the newer chuggers, teaching them skills that would help them get through fog, and also colour mixing.

At some point, Olwin would take part in a documentary of Chuggington with narration provided by Emery. She was at first offended by the rude jokes he made of her and the others, but very quickly forgave Emery. She was also on the front cover of Chuggington Life after being shown to blow bubbles out of her tanks due to elephant soap accidently falling inside her boiler.

Olwin is still very close with her older friends, especially Pete; she once took care of him while he awaited a new firebox. She is also acquainted with some of the other chuggers, like Harrison and Chatsworth.

Olwin also played a game of hidey-chugger with Hoot and Toot to help them use their emergency horn; while trying to find them, Olwin would break down in Rocky Ridge Mine, with the twins pushing her out to safety.

Sometime later, Olwin, and many others were recruited to assist Brewster in moving the Tunnel Boring Machine for the Chuggineers, but she had to tow Harrison and Chatsworth to the Repair Shed after they both broke down. She also took part in the Parade of Lights. Olwin later joined Jackman, Asher, Pete and Koko in retrieving a load of diesel tankers from the Docks after a mass diesel shortage was caused by extreme ice levels.Olwin is similar to a tender-less LNER Class A4 locomotive. Whenever she collects coal, it is deposited through an opening in her cab roof, an
