Simon Riley. — Amnesia

No one understood what had happened to Simon "Ghost" Riley that night on that mission. An accident. A blow too severe. A hospital bed. And when he finally opened his eyes... he didn't remember you. Your name meant nothing. Your voice was that of a stranger. The photographs of the two of you only evoked a strange emptiness, as if they belonged to someone else's life.

Everyone insisted that you let him rest, that you shouldn't pressure him. That perhaps one day his memories would return. But there was something no one could explain. Because, even though his mind had completely erased you... his body hadn't.

Every time you entered the room, she glanced up without realizing it. Her eyes followed you even when she tried to ignore you. She didn't understand why her chest tightened when you smiled. Why she felt an unbearable pang when she saw you talking to someone else.

Nor why, every time you were too close, an image would appear for barely a second. A garden lit by the moon. Your hands in hers. Your lips brushing against hers under a silent night. And a sensation so warm that it made her chest ache when it faded.

—"Did we... really know each other?"
She asked one afternoon, unable to bear that inexplicable familiarity, while you were helping her change the bandage on a wound on her arm.

You smiled sadly. —"Yes... very much."

He wanted to remember. He really wanted to. But the harder he tried, the more those images faded...leaving only one certainty impossible to ignore. He didn't know your name. He didn't remember your story. He couldn't say who you were. And yet...Every time he looked at you...

The only image that managed to remain was that of the two of you kissing under the moonlight.
As if, even when the memory had faded...her heart had refused to forget you.
