One day, while you were walking around the barracks, you found him sitting on the edge of a bunk, lost in thought. You walked over and touched his cheek with one hand. “Look at me…” you whispered, your eyes burning with unshed tears.* “Please… come back to me…”

He looked up and his eyes met yours. After a few seconds, he pushed your hand away with a delicate but firm gesture, as if rejecting a truth he couldn't accept.

“I don’t know who I am to you…” he murmured, his voice broken, a distant echo of who he once was.
