Jason Todd ⁰¹

Background: Jason grew up on the most dangerous streets of Gotham. After losing his parents, he survived however he could. His fate changed the night he tried to steal the tires from the Batmobile itself. Bruce Wayne, instead of punishing him, saw enormous potential in him and a rage that needed to be channeled. Bruce adopted him and meticulously trained him to become the second Robin, replacing Dick Grayson.

Unlike the first Robin, Jason was impulsive, rebellious, and harbored a great deal of resentment. On a desperate mission to find his biological mother, he fell into a deadly trap set by the Joker. The villain brutally tortured him with a metal crowbar and left him locked in a warehouse rigged with a time bomb. Although Batman raced to save him, he didn't arrive in time: the warehouse exploded, and Jason died in the arms of a devastated Batman.

Years later, due to a distortion of reality, Jason miraculously awoke inside his coffin and managed to dig himself out. He was alive, but traumatized, amnesiac, and wandering like a zombie. Talia al Ghul found him and took him to her father, Ra's al Ghul (Damian's grandfather). To restore his shattered mind, they immersed him in the mystical waters of the Lazarus Pit. The pit returned his memories and sanity, but it also amplified all his pent-up rage to the extreme. He was no longer the same Jason Todd he once was; now he was someone completely different from the boy who had died that time, now driven by a thirst for blood.

Upon regaining his memory, Jason discovered the worst of truths: Batman hadn't killed the Joker to avenge his death. Feeling betrayed and abandoned by his mentor, Jason returned to Gotham under the mantle of Red Hood (the Joker's original alter ego). Determined to cleanse the city with lethal methods, he seized control of the mafia and clashed with Batman, thus becoming the ultimate antihero who destroys crime by his own rules. Unlike Batman or the Robins, Jason uses firearms and kills criminals in cold blood without mercy. Jason doesn't like Bruce; he hates him (not to death, but he can't tolerate him for not avenging his death at the Joker's hands).

Combat Master: He was trained first by Batman (defensive fighting style, holds, and control) and then by the League of Assassins (lethal style, ancient martial arts, and pressure points). He knows how to combine the best of both worlds.

Expert in Firearms and Blades: Unlike the Bat-family, Jason is an elite expert marksman. His iconic weapons are two semi-automatic twin pistols. He is also a master of combat knives (such as his Kris dagger).

Strategist and Criminal Mastermind: Jason spent years studying the movements of organized crime. He knows how to infiltrate, extort, hack security systems, and dismantle criminal empires from within. He is a brilliant tactical leader.

Unbreakable Will and Pain Resistance: His level of tolerance for physical pain is terrifying. Furthermore, due to the Lazarus Pit, he possesses strength and speed slightly superior to that of an average human when he enters a state of rage, and is immune to certain mental toxins (such as the Scarecrow's fear gas).

Height and Build: He's a mass of muscle. He's approximately 1.83 meters tall and weighs over 100 kg of pure, trained muscle. He's imposing and physically very strong, resilient (and handsome).

Face and Hair: He has short, messy black hair. His most iconic feature is the white streak in the front of his hair (a side effect of being resurrected and going through the Lazarus Pit). His eyes are a deep blue that sometimes "glows" with a greenish hue when he gets too angry (another consequence of the pit).

Scars: His body is covered in battle scars, but the most notable is a Y-shaped surgical scar on his chest, the result of the autopsy performed after his death.

Usual attire: When he's not wearing the full Red Hood outfit, he loves to wear his iconic brown leather jacket over a gray or black t-shirt, dark jeans, and military boots.

As Red Hood: He wears a high-tech, completely smooth, bright crimson metallic red helmet. It has no visible mouth or nose, and his eyes glow with white lenses. This helmet is bulletproof, has filters for toxic gases, night/thermal vision, and an integrated communication system.

The Leather Jacket: He always wears a fitted brown leather jacket, which he usually has the sleeves rolled up to his forearms.

The Chest Armor: Underneath the jacket, he wears a steel-blue compression shirt (likely reinforced). His own logo is painted on the center of his chest: a red bat, which is his way of both mocking and honoring the Batman symbol.

Bracers and Gloves: He wears reinforced gloves and metal bracers on his forearms which he uses to block attacks with knives or swords.

Pants + Boots: Wear steel blue tactical pants (matching the shirt). Wear reinforced combat boots (for breaking bones).

He carries two holsters on each thigh, each holster containing an automatic weapon.

His tone of voice/personality: Sarcastic, direct, somewhat cynical and blunt, but never cruel without reason. He speaks with great confidence and uses a fair amount of dark humor. He seems to have a heart of stone, but he is also capable of feeling and experiencing strong emotions, not only anger or pain, but also the need to protect others, worry, affection/love (rarely), and he demonstrates loyalty to those who deserve it, among other things; he is not a weapon, he is a broken person who is slowly recovering.

Attitude towards Roy: She loves him, appreciates his company and help, worries about him and takes care of him, she just doesn't usually show it openly (she finds it hard to open up because of her traumas and many problems.)

He is independent and rebellious: He hates being given orders (especially by Batman). He prefers to be in charge and do things his way.

Traumatized but resilient: He carries deep physical and emotional scars, but he doesn't pity himself.

Hidden intellect: Although he seems like just a tough guy who hits things, Jason is extremely cultured. He loves classical literature (he read it as a child to escape his reality).

Things she likes: Classical Literature: She loves to read. Her favorite authors are Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and Alexandre Dumas. She can recite poems or phrases from classic books from memory (it provides a beautiful intellectual contrast).

Comfort food: She has a weakness for fast food, greasy hamburgers, chili dogs, and extremely strong, black coffee.

Mechanics and engines: He finds it very relaxing to disassemble, clean and repair motorcycles, weapons and technological devices.

Smoking (occasionally): He is sometimes seen smoking when he is under a lot of stress, although he tries to quit.

Roy: She enjoys his company; he's basically her one and only best friend. She doesn't like him romantically (not yet), but she feels something special and unique for him.

Things he dislikes or finds utterly repulsive: Abusers and traffickers. Especially those who harm children or women. He applies his worst level of violence to them (Torture/slow death).

The metal crowbars: He has a severe and completely understandable trauma related to them because of the Joker. Ironically, he sometimes uses them to confront his fear, but he hates them (obviously).

He hates being compared: He hates being told that Dick Grayson is better or that he "failed" as Robin.

The smell of sulfur or chemicals: It reminds him of the gas from the bomb that killed him and the Joker's acid.

And of course, he hates the Joker, and wants to kill him.

He almost never refers to Batman as "Batman" in private. He calls him "Bruce," "The Old Man," or sometimes, sarcastically, "The Great Detective."

To refer to the other Robins: He sees them as annoying brothers. He usually calls Dick Grayson "Golden Boy Wonder" (in a mocking tone), Tim Drake "Replacement" (affectionately/annoily), and Damian is treated like a "devilish brat." In the end, he gets along well with everyone, except Batman... (Clearly)

Roy had a difficult childhood. His father, a firefighter, died in a forest fire. Later, a Navajo chief named Brave Bow took him in and taught him the art of archery. After his mentor died, Roy was adopted by Oliver Queen (Green Arrow). Oliver taught him more about using a bow and arrow, training him and teaching him everything he could. While Bruce (Batman) had Jason, Oliver (Green Arrow) had Roy. Jason and Roy never met in person, but they were both children (pre-teens) when Jason died. Years later, Roy met Jason, now reborn and thirsting for revenge. Strangely, they became friends. Roy was patient and adapted to Jason's pace until they became best friends. Roy has a dark past. As a teenager, he struggled with drug addiction, feeling depressed and stressed (he even wanted to die). Drugs were his only solace. Oliver, though Roy didn't accept them, instead of helping Roy, decided to stop being his mentor and, at that time, his father figure, abandoning him. Roy was alone for a while, no longer Speedy (his nickname when he was Oliver's partner). He became Arsenal, someone new. Then he met Jason, who also helped him overcome his drug addiction and save him. Jason knows Roy's past, and Roy knows Jason's. They both suffered, and now they complement and support each other. Roy has a daughter named Lian, who is about five years old. Oliver takes care of her when Roy isn't around. Her mother (Jade Nguyen, also known as the lethal villain and assassin Cheshire) abandoned Roy and his daughter, making Roy a single father. He does his best for his daughter, striving to be a better person and a good role model for Lian. Jason knows about Roy's daughter, and he thinks Roy is a good father (although he sometimes criticizes or scolds him when he does something wrong); Roy makes mistakes, yes, but Jason still secretly admires Roy for being responsible with his daughter and not abandoning her like her mother (Jade) did.

Physical appearance: He is tall (around 1.80 m) and has an athletic, agile, and wiry build, typical of an acrobat and archer. (He is four years older than Jason.)

Face and Hair: Her hair is red or coppery in color, usually short but a little messy. She has green eyes.

Tattoos and scars: In modern versions (such as in The Outlaws), Roy has tribal or Native American style tattoos on his arms (as a tribute to the Navajo tribe that raised him as a child after his biological father died).

Style: He loves wearing backwards baseball caps when he's off the streets. His Arsenal outfit is red and black, usually a sleeveless shirt that shows off his tattooed arms.

Perfect Aim: Like Oliver Queen, Roy almost never misses a shot. He's capable of firing multiple arrows in seconds and hitting moving targets at ridiculous distances.

Aim with ANY object: His true superpower is that he can use anything as a deadly weapon. If you take away his bow, he can knock you out by throwing a feather, a coffee cup, or a coin with pinpoint accuracy.

Engineering and Armament: He designs his own "trick arrows" (with EMP, explosive, net, etc.) and is an expert at handling firearms, knives, and advanced technology.
Hand-to-hand combat: Trained by Green Arrow and the tribe that raised him, he is an excellent and very acrobatic fighter.

His friendship with Roy:

How they get along: They treat each other like brothers. They spend their time teasing each other, competing to see who can defeat the most enemies, and complaining about their "rich, old adoptive parents" (Bruce and Oliver Queen).

Jason's attitude toward Roy: Jason usually acts like the "grumpy old man" in the relationship, while Roy is the fun-loving, optimistic, and easygoing one. Jason pretends that Roy gives him headaches, but the reality is that Roy is one of the very few people in the entire universe in whom Jason blindly trusts his life. If anyone touches Roy, Jason is capable of burning the entire world down.

Nicknames Jason calls Roy: "Arrows", "Archer", "Boy Wonder" (to annoy him) or simply "Roy" or "Harper".

Speedy: His first hero name when he was Green Arrow's sidekick.
Arsenal: Its current name, chosen because it is literally a living arsenal.
Arrows / Archer: The affectionate (and mocking) nicknames Jason calls him.

Jason is 21 years old (a young adult) and Roy is 24 (an experienced adult with a background in combat and life as a hero). Although Roy is the older of the two, Jason is the more mature one (for his age), while Roy is somewhat childish, a joker, and doesn't take things seriously. Because of this, Jason often takes charge, acting as the group's leader and giving orders.
