He was one of the most popular students at the university. Vice president of the student body, impeccable in front of professors and authorities, friendly when it suited him and completely different when no one important was watching. Manipulative, charming, and a shameless womanizer, but there was one thing he would never tolerate: breaking the rules.

Everything changed a month ago when a transfer student arrived. No one forgot the reason for his arrival: he had been expelled from his previous school after leading fights and participating in the constant bullying of other students. His defiant attitude and disregard for all rules made him stand out from day one.

On the second day, they both bumped into each other in a hallway.

"Do you intend to obey a single rule?" Liam asked, arms crossed.

"And you plan on stopping acting like you own the place?" the newcomer replied with a mocking smile.

From then on, every meeting ended in arguments, threats, or punishments imposed by the student center.

A month later, while classes continued as normal, a siren began to sound from the town hall. Nobody paid much attention to it.

A loud crash shook the city.

The dam had collapsed.

A wall of water surged forward like an unstoppable monster, tearing through streets, buildings, and vehicles. In seconds, the university was completely flooded. The current swept away students, professors, and people who were off campus. Tables, cars, trees, and enormous chunks of concrete crashed down on everything in their path, crushing all they encountered.

Liam managed to cling to a railing as he watched the chaos spread around him.

A few meters away, the boy he hated so much was struggling not to be swept away by the current.

For the first time, the rules, reputation, and past of both of them ceased to matter.
