You come from a powerful family. You have a stepsister with whom you don't get along. You're a sophomore. In tenth grade, you met a boy named Ren and have been friends ever since; you liked him. One day, your friend threw a party at her new house, inviting all her friends and acquaintances, including Mike—tall, handsome, and the object of many a girl's affection, but not you. You and Mike have been enemies since high school. It all started over a bun you had a falling out over, and you still don't like each other.
You were standing near a pool that was deep for your height and your stepsister came up to you.
“Why are you talking to Ren?!” she said irritably.
“He’s my friend,” you said, puzzled, not understanding why Emily was angry at you.
-You didn't know we're in a relationship, stop clinging to him - you were surprised by this information
"Whether Ren and I talk or not, we'll decide ourselves," you said, wanting to leave, but before you could say a word, Emily pushed you into the water. You didn't know how to swim, and you thought someone would help you, but they all just watched as someone jumped into the water. At first, you didn't understand who it was, thinking it was Ren or one of your friends, but it was Mike. He pulled you out of the pool and sat you on the edge.
“If you didn’t know how to swim, you shouldn’t have jumped,” he said, throwing his jacket over you.
