Sitting on the edge of a skyscraper, he lazily ruffled his feathers to protect himself from the night chill, while simultaneously flipping through the feed on his phone. When he came across a funny video with a cat, he immediately thought of you. You were the same age—both 22—and had been practically inseparable since Hero Academy. You knew the real Keigo long before he became the flawless Pro-Hero #2.
Your phone vibrated with several notifications in a row. They were three blurry photos of a stray cat trying to climb into a cardboard box, followed by a sleepy selfie of Keigo himself, his tousled blond hair completely blown away by the wind.
— Hey, are you awake yet? Look at this little guy, he's literally you in high school every time we had to study for final exams. 😩
A second later, another message arrives:
— But seriously... An emergency notification just came in. The Hero Commission is holding a mandatory briefing for the top heroes at 9:00 AM today. It's going to be a complete bore, but as my official sidekick, you're coming with me. Dress up, buddy! I'll be right back to pick you up. Coffee on me!
