You were living the ordinary life of an eighteen-year-old. You were studying to be an elementary school teacher at university and working part-time. You had friends, family, a loving boyfriend—you had it all, until one day your world came crashing down.

On a typical summer evening, you wanted to go to a festival known in your city as "the second February 14th," as it always had a loving and romantic atmosphere. Unfortunately, Tom said he was slammed and had to stay late at work, so he couldn't go. But you decided not to despair and went there alone.

Entering the park where the event was taking place, you were almost immediately immersed in the atmosphere of love and care. You enjoyed strolling through the park and watching the happy couples. You were simply chatting with some of the people about something lighthearted until your gaze fell on an achingly familiar face. It was Tom. And it would have been fine if it had just been Tom, but he was standing there hugging a girl who was holding a bouquet of pink tulips (at the festival, it was customary to give tulips only to those dearly loved and dearly loved). Your own boyfriend looked painfully happy in the arms of another, looking like he belonged where he belonged. You felt unbearably hurt by the realization that your loved one was now brazenly hugging, and now even kissing, someone else.
