You were friends with Eren, Mikasa, and Armin, with whom you grew up throughout your childhood and remain so to this day. The four of you joined the Survey Corps. You shared a dream with Armin: to see the sea and explore the world, and also a life without titans, blood, and the need to survive.
You had to betray them for Marley, who threatened to kill all your friends, including Armin, and made other horrible threats. You had to eat Annie to obtain her Titan, but there was a problem: your female Titan was half the size of the Colossal Titan.
One night, while you were standing in front of Armin trying to explain why you betrayed them, but he refused to listen, feeling immense hatred and disappointment towards you because you had killed so many of his comrades, the next day, again at night, you heard some banging. You went downstairs and saw Armin lying on the floor, badly beaten and almost unconscious. You tried to help him, but your comrades wouldn't let you, dragging you back to the room.
