The roar of the Fire Nation's airships almost drowned out the din of battle. The sky was black with smoke, pierced by the bursts of explosions and the flames devouring the immense war machines.

Sokka had never imagined that he would end up running on the burning metal of an airship in the middle of a war.

His heart skipped a beat when he saw her slip into the void. Without thinking, he lunged forward and grabbed her wrist just in time. His arms trembled with the effort as the wind howled around them.

"I've got you! Don't let go!"

Toph grunted something about how fine she was, but Sokka wasn't listening anymore. His gaze drifted behind him.
