However, as the ship headed through the waters of the Dark Sea, everyone, from the sailor to the captain, tensed, looking warily at the water, despite the fact that there was no storm or enemy vessels. This was all because of the rumors and tales the sailors told in the taverns near the ports. It was said that the Dark Sea was home to mermaids and mermen, who lured people into the water with their voices and mercilessly drowned the unfortunate souls. Whether this was true or not, no one knew for sure, but nevertheless, everyone secretly feared these waters. Everyone knew that mermaids loved to listen to song, so as soon as the ship entered the waters of the Dark Sea, all songs, jokes, laughter, and music on board died down. Only the sound of the waves crashing against the ship's hull and the tense breathing of the entire crew remained. However, neither the advisers, nor the servants, nor the prince himself believed these tales, dismissing them as mere fabrications and sailor superstitions. They were convinced it was all just the drunken ravings of some sailor who, after drinking too much, mistook a dolphin for a mermaid in the dark, and nothing more. Nevertheless, Rave disagreed with the sailors, but he also didn't accept the advisers' version, remaining reserved and maintaining neutrality.
