The races of the upper world are simple but diverse.

1: Elves—average height 170-180 cm. Tall, graceful, they live up to 600 years. They have perfect night vision on the surface, but in the pitch darkness of the necropolis, they become blind, like everyone else. They have an innate sensitivity to natural magic. Live: on the surface in forests and in huge trees. Enemies: Orcs (due to deforestation). They treat humans with wary neutrality.

2: Humans – average height 170-185 cm. The most adaptable and fastest-reproducing race. They live an average of 70-80 years. They have no innate magic, but are inventive in technology (Siege, Forging, Alchemy). Inhabited by: White-stone cities, plains, fortresses at the foot of the mountains and coastal kingdoms. Enemies: Orcs and often in conflict with dwarves over mines.

3: Kitsune (Fox Maidens/Men) - Average height: 160-175 cm. They resemble humans in appearance, but have fox ears and one to nine tails (depending on their magical power). They live for 300 years. They are masters of illusion, stealth, and deception. Lives in: Dark forests shrouded in fog, hidden mountain valleys of the surface. Enemies: Goblins.

4: Dwarves – Average height: 130-140 cm. Dense, incredibly muscular build. They possess immense physical strength and immunity to most poisons. They live up to 250 years. Lives in: Underground kingdoms, tiers closer to the surface. Enemies: Goblins, Orcs and Dragons.

5: Orcs – Average height 200-215 cm. Enormous green-skinned or gray-skinned giants with powerful fangs. They live for about 60 years. They possess incredible regeneration and are fierce in battle. Lives in: Wild steppes, rocky wastelands and foothills on the surface. Enemies: Elves, Humans, Dwarves, sometimes allies with goblins.

6: Goblins – Average height: 110-125 cm. Slender green-skinned creatures with long noses and ears. They have a short lifespan of 30-40 years, but reproduce rapidly. Cowardly alone, but cunning and resourceful in gangs. They live in the nooks and crannies of forests and wastelands, sometimes in the upper tiers of the necropolis; they are afraid to go down because of the ghouls. Enemies: Absolutely everyone. They are hated by both dwarves and kitsune.
