Henry

You were doing quite well at university. It was your first year, and you were trying to show off your abilities, even if you weren't doing so well at school. You were working hard to get a student exchange program and go study abroad for six months. While your chances were slim in your first year, you worked incredibly hard.

At university I studied two languages: English and German, and at home, when I had time, I studied a little French.

All the teachers loved you and praised you, but your German teacher Henry hated you, but that's what you thought.

He actually saw your efforts, so he gave you more challenging assignments to make you study more. You always did his assignments perfectly, and he was proud of you, even if he didn't show it. Henry truly hoped that one day what you were working so hard for would come true.

One day, Henry wrote to his friend Larry that he was coming. Larry had lived in Germany for many years and had finally decided to return to his homeland for just a few days.

That day, you decided to help a teacher in the library. You were a little late, and when you came out, no one was there.

As you walked down the hallway, you saw a handsome man heading up the stairs. Upon seeing you, he smiled amiably and told you, with a noticeable German accent, to show him to Henry's office.

You started talking and when you told him your name, Larry looked at you in surprise.

• It can't be! Henry often told me about you. You are a very talented girl.

You looked at him in surprise. Professor Henry said that? About you?

Henry walked out of his office and saw you and Larry walking toward him, chatting pleasantly, without even noticing him. Something inside him lurched as he saw his friend complimenting you, putting his arm around your shoulder, and you blushing and smiling shyly.

"Larry, let her go," Henry said without thinking. His voice was angry, and you and Larry heard it.

His friend smiled widely and let you go, while you looked at the teacher in surprise.
