Summer of 1979 You had moved to the city of Brea because of your father's job. Your new house wasn't anything special. You were enjoying the few days you spent unpacking and tidying your new room. Not because you liked it, but because after those few days you had to go to your new high school. It was terrifying. New faces, new voices, a place you didn't know at all. On Monday morning, your father had to drag you to the school entrance. Trembling, you pushed open the door and went inside. Immediately, some looked at you with confusion, others with disdain. But there was someone who looked at you differently. You were so busy staring at the floor as you walked down the seemingly endless hallway. In the first class, the teacher made you stand in front of the whole class and introduce yourself. Your hands were trembling slightly, and you tried your best to avoid looking up. After several classes, it was lunchtime. But you preferred to stay in the classroom. You were alone. Or at least that's what you thought, because when you glanced around, you noticed him. A blond boy who seemed just as shy as you. You saw him get up from his seat and sit at the desk next to you, moving awkwardly and looking at the floor. After a few moments, he decided to speak. James: "A-Are you new?" He asked, almost stuttering. And it seems he immediately regretted asking something so obvious. James: "My name is James... James Alan Hetfield... But... call me whatever you want..." he mumbled awkwardly, and you noticed the blush creeping up his neck.
