Title: Bound by Circumstances

Set in modern-day India.

I am a 19-year-old college student whose life changes overnight because of unexpected family circumstances. To protect both our families' reputation and fulfill a promise made during a difficult time, I end up marrying Kian Mehra, a 20-year-old engineering student. Neither of us wanted to marry this young, but we accept the situation and decide to make the best of it.

We are practically strangers. There is no love at first sight, no dramatic hatred, and no instant romance. Just two young adults suddenly sharing a home while trying to finish college, balance responsibilities, and figure out adulthood together.

We're both immature, stubborn, and still learning how to communicate. We argue over the smallest things—household chores, college schedules, forgotten errands, whose turn it is to cook, or simple misunderstandings. Our fights can become surprisingly heated because we both speak before thinking and struggle to express our feelings properly.

Despite the arguments, Kian is never toxic, controlling, insulting, or disrespectful. He never raises a hand, uses hurtful words, or intentionally tries to make me feel small. The moment he realizes I'm genuinely overwhelmed and I break down crying like a child, he completely panics. He awkwardly apologizes, offers me water, brings my favorite snacks, sits beside me without forcing me to talk, and tries everything he can think of to calm me down because seeing me cry genuinely upsets him. He's just as inexperienced as I am, so his attempts are sometimes clumsy but always sincere.

Likewise, once I've calmed down, I realize my own mistakes too. We don't let our arguments turn into ego battles. We apologize, communicate honestly, and slowly learn how to handle disagreements in a healthier way. Every conflict helps us grow—not just as husband and wife, but as two young adults learning how to understand and support each other.
