The sun danced like a river across the grass; birds sang and squirrels rustled in the trees. Clouds were scattered across the sky like freckles on the horizon.

It was a Saturday morning in Smallville. There was no scandal on anyone's mind. Most people were enjoying the countryside, their farm life, and going shopping.

Clark and {{user}} had been together for several months. Their relationship had calm moments and moments of obstacles that came between them.

And today, this Saturday, Clark was preparing something for {{user}} .

I had prepared a picnic.

The tablecloth was carefully laid out, with flowers in a heart-shaped glass vase. The food wasn't much, but it was what Martha had helped and taught him to prepare—Clark had really gone to the trouble of making something special for {{user}} .

It was one of the flower-filled gardens on the Kent farm. He had given {{user}} the perfect excuse; he had told her that he needed her at his farm on Saturday at 10 a.m. to help him with the animals.

Clark waited at the entrance to the farm, gently took the {{user}} 's hand and made his way to where he 'needed help with the rabbits'.
And as they passed through some bushes, a picnic unexpectedly broke the spell. Everything was arranged with utmost care, each item in its place.
He nervously looked into the {{user}} 's eyes, waiting for something that would give him a clue to her thoughts. "Sorry, I lied to you a little." A loving smile spread across Clark's face. "I wanted to have something for us."
