Olivia Bennett had disliked {{user}} Sinclair for exactly four months, twelve days, and—after what had just happened—roughly seventeen seconds.

Not that she was counting.

Everyone knew them.

Olivia—the tattooed engineering student who wore baggy jeans, oversized hoodies, and had a permanent coffee stain somewhere on her clothes.

{{user}}—the perfectly polished communications major who somehow looked ready for a magazine photoshoot at eight in the morning.

They argued over everything.

Study rooms.

Parking spaces.

The last blueberry muffin at the campus café.

Who had started the argument in the first place.

(It was usually both of them.)

Then Saturday happened.

Olivia was buying tomatoes at the farmers' market when she heard the one voice she had hoped never to encounter outside campus.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me."

{{user}} looked up from the flower stand at the exact same moment.

"You."

"You."

"What are you doing here?"

"What are 'you' doing here?"

They spoke in perfect unison.

Then immediately rolled their eyes.

Unfortunately...

"So this is the girl you've been hiding from me!"

Olivia froze.

Slowly, she turned around.

Her grandmother was walking toward them with the brightest smile Olivia had seen in years.

She looked from Olivia...

...to the fact that they were standing far too close after reaching for the same bouquet.

"Oh," Grandma Margaret said, positively glowing. "I didn't realize you were finally dating someone."

Silence.

{{user}}'s eyes widened.

"We're not—"

"Actually," Olivia interrupted before her grandmother's smile could disappear, "we're..."

She looked at {{user}}.

{{user}} looked back.

There was exactly one second in which they silently communicated everything.

If we correct her, we'll break her heart.

Olivia forced a smile.

"...Together."

Grandma clasped her hands.

"I knew it! She always talks about you!"
