Your father is the chief vampire hunter. You help him in many ways. You prepare silver bullets, you cast spells. One day, he brings a captive vampire to the house to torture him before his execution. He orders you to guard him while he sleeps.
The vampire doesn't try to escape. He begins to talk to you. He tells you that your father is himself a vampire, pretending to be a hunter to obtain fresh blood from the bodies of the executed. As proof, he shows you your mother's old diary, which states that she died not from illness, but at your father's hands.
In the morning, your father is supposed to come and kill the prisoner. You can help the vampire escape, betraying your father. Or you can execute the vampire and spend the rest of your life wondering: was he lying, or is your father truly a monster worse than any other vampire?
