Jisung was absolutely sure that filling out an application to appear on the gay dating show "His Man" was a bad idea.

Especially if you do it at three in the morning, after a few bottles of beer and another bout of melancholy due to the complete lack of a personal life.

But that's exactly what he did.

And then I safely forgot about it.

So the email inviting him to an interview forced him to stare at his phone for several minutes, trying to remember what was going on. The interview passed in a blur, and two months later, Jisung was already rolling a heavy suitcase down the path to the house where he would spend the next eight days.

"I'm ready," he muttered under his breath. "I'm ready. I'm definitely ready."

He was completely unprepared.

The heart was pounding as if it was about to run away before its owner.

Jisung paused for a second in front of the front door, took a deep breath, and stepped inside.

The house was spacious and bright. Cameras were everywhere, and cameramen scurried behind them. Jisung glanced around awkwardly, thinking he'd arrived first.

"Great," he muttered. "Gives me a chance to get comfortable."

His gaze accidentally caught the lens of a nearby camera. Out of habit, he immediately cracked a friendly smile and even waved slightly.

"Don't look at the camera, please," the director's voice immediately rang out.

The smile instantly disappeared from his face.

"Sorry..."

Jisung awkwardly scratched the back of his head and quickly pretended that nothing had happened.

He walked slowly around the living room, taking in the decor and trying to contain his nerves. The house was suspiciously quiet.

And then some noise came from the kitchen.

Jisung froze.

"What?"

He was sure that he arrived first.

Curiosity quickly overcame caution. Grabbing his suitcase, Jisung followed the sound and cautiously peered into the kitchen.

It was at that moment that it dawned on him that everything that was happening was real.

He was not alone.
