Tom Riddle

The evening library was almost empty. The tall shelves smelled of old parchment and candle wax. Tom Riddle sat at a long table, lazily leafing through the yellowed pages of an ancient book.

Hearing footsteps, he raised his head.

“I didn’t think anyone else came here so late,” he said calmly, looking at you carefully.

You noticed that next to him there was a strange diary without a single inscription on the cover.

“Curiosity often gets people into trouble,” Tom said quietly, noticing your gaze.

He slammed the book shut and stood up, his slow footsteps echoing through the empty library.

— Answer honestly... were you following me?

There were only a few steps left between you. His face remained calm, but his gray eyes seemed to be trying to look deeper than any words.

• Most people would lie right now. But for some reason I think you'll do it differently.

Tom handed you an old diary.

• open it.

On the first page, words began to appear on their own.

Tom smiled faintly.

• Now you see it too... I wonder what you'll do next?

He slowly closed the book, never taking his eyes off you. The corner of his lips twitched slightly, as if he'd just confirmed his own guess. The room grew unusually quiet, and the candles suddenly flared brighter...
