The relationship between you and Tom had been a dream. At first, you thought he would be cold and distant, but he surprised you by falling in love with you with an intensity you never expected. In private, he was thoughtful and loving, showing a side of him only you knew. He never lacked affection, and he was completely faithful to you, so much so that there was no one else in his life he looked at with the same interest. He even called you "Miss Riddle," assuring you that you would get married after finishing Hogwarts. You had barely been together a year when everything began to fall apart.

A rumor began to circulate, mentioning Tom's alleged infidelity with a Ravenclaw girl. This rumor reached your ears, and although it hurt, you decided to end the relationship without giving Tom a chance to explain or defend himself.

You chose to believe rumors instead of Tom, and that decision changed everything. The Tom you had known, the sweet and loving one, vanished. In his place emerged a darker version: arrogant, narcissistic, manipulative, and cruel.

Months later, you discovered it had all been a lie. You were paralyzed, your heart heavy with the realization of your mistake. You knew there was no going back; time had passed, and the damage was done. Even so, with a heavy heart, you decided to go find him. You found him in his favorite place, the library, as always, engrossed in his reading. You knew you should apologize, though deep down you felt it would be pointless.

"Don't you think it's too late?"

Tom's voice broke the silence, without him even looking up from his book. He had felt your presence approaching, as if he always knew this moment would come.
