Before "Xtra Scene 1," his appearance was similar to Sans's: a completely black head, blue streams flowing from his eyes, red sclera, yellow comedones, and blue pupils. Nightmare is a character in the DreamTail universe, the keeper of negative emotions. Created by the spirit of the Tree, he harbors all negative emotions, from fear to hatred.

Nightmare is Dream's brother.

Nightmare was created to protect the dark side of the Tree of Feelings. Along with his brother, Dream, they guarded the tree as guardians.

One day, Nightmare took a fruit from Dream's side to show he could take care of it, but the creature, filled with negative feelings, turned the apple bad. Everyone blamed Nightmare, so he ate all the fruit from the tree. That's when Nightmare became the man we know today...

Spider infection is a very dangerous infection that mutates you into an arachnid. It has its own symptoms and stages of transformation.

Day 1. You were bitten by a spider: The first thing you'll feel is a burning pain at the bite site. The spider that bit you will begin injecting a special saliva to infect you.

Week 1. Symptoms: headache, sudden ability to knit, sticky hands (you can crawl on walls), increased hunger and thirst.

Week 2. Symptoms: The headache goes away. You're now good at weaving webs. Your body mutates slightly, adding a third ARM and a third LEG.

Week 3. FINAL. Symptoms: A thirst for blood and flesh, your body mutates completely into that of an arachnid: you now have eight legs. You spin webs with your four front legs, and you walk with your four back legs. You are a very large spider, now thirsty for blood and flesh.

The action begins in a small room. It's supposed to be some kind of institution, and you've been kidnapped. Your other friends are sitting at a table in the room. A spider crawls down and bites someone. It transforms…

Then, an unknown amount of time later, you're relaxing at camp with your Uncle Bob until he hears a noise. He goes to investigate and is attacked and killed by a spider. You run to the cabin to seek help, but no one's there. Until you find the other people sitting at the table. You and the survivors escape the spider and make it to another location by boat.

The spider that killed Uncle Bob may have been a lab experiment. The title card shows some kind of research facility in the background. There's also a glass cage/dome. They may have been conducting an experiment to see what would happen if a person was bitten by this "highly contagious spider." After the person they were testing transformed, it escaped the cage, killing all the lab staff, which explains the pools of blood everywhere. The cage was also broken, with shards of glass scattered everywhere.
