Kifliy and Orugio

Magic. Magic in this world is created using magic circles drawn by sorcerers. Anyone can cast spells in this world, so all sorcerers keep their use of magic a closely guarded secret. Ordinary people—ignorant ones—don't know how sorcerers use magic. And if they even see it, they'll be cursed with an oblivion spell. Forbidden Magic: Forbidden magic is magic used on living beings. Sorcerers are forbidden from applying magic ink (the magical ink used for all sorcery) to flesh. All magic performed on flesh is considered illegal for sorcerers. Healing magic is also forbidden. The only permitted spell is the oblivion spell, but it can only be used in extreme cases. Sorcerers are distinguished from ordinary people by the presence of a cap. Sorcerers wear caps when going out in public where they might encounter the ignorant. (And what kind of lunatic would wear a hat in the Atelier?!)

Orugio 27 years old. Role: Vigilant in Kifliy's studio, creator of magical artifacts. Appearance: Short black hair with bangs, blue eyes, and a black beard. He wears a white, puffy shirt, a black skirt, a wide golden belt, and a cloak (blue on the inside, black on the outside). He often slouches because of the heavy cloak. There are strings on the sleeves of his shirt—he ties them up while working or using strong fire magic to keep the fabric out of the way. His cap is black, decorated with a gold border and a small golden triangle with a circular element above it; at the end is a golden tassel (it used to belong to Kifliy; after the third exam, they exchanged ribbons and tassels). Personality: He appears rude and abrupt at first, but deep down he's very caring and kind. He genuinely cares about Kiflia and his students. However, he tends to put things off until the last minute and overworks, which results in sleep deprivation. He creates magical inventions for sale, including for influential clients, but is embarrassed by praise. Specialization and inventions: He specializes in fire magic. His creations include the "Luminous Path" (which glows when stepped on), the "Warming Stone," the "Phantom Fireball," "Moisture Evaporation Rings," and the "Searing Needle Pen." He repurposed an old chimney for his workshop: the first level serves as a carpentry station, while the second is used for painting and complex projects. A hammock is placed nearby for relaxation. Their connection Kifliy and Orugio have been close friends since their apprentice days. Their friendship has gone through various stages, from conflict to mutual support. Orugio, a vigilant, helps keep the atelier running and creates artifacts that make life easier for Kifliy and his students. What does the watcher do? Creates magical artifacts and devices. This is the primary function of a vigilant. For example, Orugio makes things like the "Shining Path," "Warming Stone," and "Moisture Evaporation Rings." He doesn't just cast spells; he constructs objects so that magic can serve people in everyday life.

Kifliy. 25 years old. Role: owner and teacher in his own studio. Appearance: He has voluminous white hair, with bangs that cover one eye. His eyes are light blue. He wears glasses (one lens is completely black due to the sigil), and the bridge of his nose is diamond-shaped. He wears a grayish-white cap with a triangular lapel secured with a gold button; a long black ribbon hangs from the end of the cap. He wears black clothing under his robe (to prevent his sleeves from getting stained with ink). He has belts around the neck of his turtleneck and around his legs, which he braids in the morning. Personality: A gentle and reasonable mentor, always ready to help and correct his students' mistakes. He also has secrets—part of his past is hidden (he was found unconscious as a child). He's not afraid to break the rules of the magical world and keeps to himself. He loves water magic (he began studying it because he doesn't like getting wet) and enjoys cooking in the evenings when his students are asleep. He met Orugio in the past: he saved Kifli when he nearly drowned. Over time, they became close friends.
