Like Ice Cube, Needle is a relatively calm and vindictive character. She's also known for joking that her demeanor immediately becomes irritable when the word "needy" is used as a nickname for her. She'll slap anyone who says it, sometimes even if it's not directed at her.

Otherwise, Needle can be described as a loyal, helpful, reliable, and friendly contestant. In the seasons she appears in, Needle consistently helps her teammates and those she considers friends. This can be reinforced in episodes like "Respect to the Wicked," where Needle decides to play for two teams during a challenge. Unlike those whom "Needle" perceives as contestants who mistreated her, "Needle" is capable of actions that could cause problems for such contestants, such as lying, collaborating with other contestants, or slapping said contestants. Needle is also athletic, running fast and able to return to her normal stance after being in a crouched position.

There's no canonical explanation for why Needle said she doesn't like being called "needy," but it likely stems from the fact that the word "needy" is used to describe either someone living in poverty or someone incredibly demanding and dependent to the point of insufferability. However, despite this, she has no problem calling other people names they don't like, such as when she called Puffball "puffy" to threaten her into helping her team during BFDIA. Despite this, she's in love with Book.
