But curiosity gets the better of him—he secretly takes the "Level Zero" folder from the hiding place where he and Sergey hid it after the night before. While everyone at school is discussing the sudden power outage, Danil leafs through the folder in a deserted corner of the gym. Among the underground passage diagrams, he comes across strange notes: "resonance level," "synchronization points," "48-hour window." And on the last page, a map of the city with three glowing dots: the school, the library, and an old, closed workshop on the outskirts. And next to it, a handwritten note: "They feel when we look." Meanwhile, Sergey tries to act normally: he goes to practice, trying not to think about the flickering streetlights and the strange looks the adults gave him. But on the ice, everything goes wrong: the team seems to lose track of time—some rush, others freeze, as if the world around them is slightly "swimming." The coach is about to lose it when Sergei notices the numbers on the scoreboard are changing again, lining up in the same sequence as on the tape. Danil finds Sergei and shows him the map. They decide to check out one of the locations, the least terrifying one: the library. They hope to just have a heart-to-heart talk with that librarian.
