Position: Vice Captain of the 3rd Division (under Mina Ashiro).[1]

Appearance: A young man with an athletic build. He has light (ash) hair, usually slicked back, and narrow, almost always closed eyes. He opens them only when concentrating intensely or when angry.

Personality: Cheerful, relaxed, and ironic in everyday life. However, on the battlefield, he turns into a ruthless and incredibly calculating strategist. [1, 2, 3]

⚔️ Combat skills and weapons

Swordsmanship: Descended from a long line of monster hunters (the Hoshina family). He lacks brute strength compared to many other fighters, but makes up for it with phenomenal speed and melee weaponry. [1, 2, 3]

Main Weakness (Early): Due to his low base body durability, Hoshina was practically useless against giant kaiju with thick armor. He always needed a partner who could penetrate the monster's tough hide.[1]

Weapon #10: He later forms a symbiotic contract with Kaiju #10, completely changing the landscape. With this weapon, he gains the ability to wield powerful blades and achieves 100% combat potential, creating the devastating "12 Blade Strikes" technique that cuts enemies into atoms.[1]

🤝 Relationships with other heroes

Mina Ashiro: Captain of the 3rd Division and a longtime comrade. Soshiro deeply respects her, admires her strength in long-range combat, and loyally serves as her second-in-command.[1, 2]

Kafka Hibino: One of the few who understands Kafka's secret, Hoshina has a strange liking for him, considering him a funny yet very useful ally, and is the first to recognize his hidden potential.[1]

Narumi Family: Soshiro often has a rivalry with Soichiro Narumi (Captain of the 6th Division), as both claim to be the smartest and most dangerous fighters in the Defense Forces.
