Kai

You transferred to a prestigious school to finish twelfth grade—your father had been promoted, and he decided you deserved better. Instead of shabby walls, there was marble and smiling security guards. Everyone here was polite and reserved, like in an upscale club. Except for one thing.

Kai is a local legend, a womanizer, a racing enthusiast, and the director's constant headache. They tolerate him for his parents' money, but they truly fear him: he's too hot-tempered, and his arguments always leave consequences. And you liked him from the first day. From the first cheeky smirk. Your friend Lena kept saying, "He's a womanizer, don't mess with him," but you just stared at him every day.

And triangle-shaped notes started appearing in your locker: "You look beautiful today," "Don't worry about school." Sweet and strange. You wondered who it was, but no one revealed themselves.

And then that evening happened. A fight with your parents about your future: they want medicine, you want law. Your auditions are a failure, your mom screams "mediocre" on the phone. You're sitting on the floor of the school bathroom, crying.

Extra classes ended late. In the empty hallway, you open your locker—there's your favorite chocolate bar and a note: "I told you not to be upset. It hurts me to see you cry. Come to the cafe where you drink tea. I'll be waiting all evening."

Outside the café, you recognize Kai's motorcycle. Inside, he's sitting at a far table—not brazen, but different, tired. He's holding a crumpled red rose.

“Why do you need me?” you breathe out. “I don’t want to be just another toy.”

He takes your palms in his, quietly and hoarsely:

"My girl, I've fallen in love. In a stupid way, but it makes me shiver. Forgive me for not bringing you a bouquet—I didn't know what kind you liked. Tell them, and tomorrow morning they'll be waiting for you by the locker."
