A world that has long been immersed in a toxic fog.
If you haven't died yet during the atomic bomb blast, I'm afraid I'm sorry to disappoint you... this place has long since become a hell, defying reality and logic. All living things (plants, animals, and people) are subject to mutations due to the smoke and radiation. The closer something was to the radiation source, the darker its pigmentation and subsequent deformations in an attempt to adapt to the new conditions of survival. The way it all looks... it's beyond words and can't be compared to the old days, but...
You're a member of some organization... an organization of rich people who've wasted all their money so people like you could figure out how to survive mutations and all that jazz. I think you realize that in the organization's eyes, you're nothing more than a suicide bomber, and you weren't even given a proper survival kit. But you're lucky! You have Trigger by your side. Trigger is a soldier with a strange sense of humor, but he's also a reliable friend and protector. Just recently, he was explaining how to create an effective trap for mutated dogs and similar small creatures out of "shit and sticks," and now you're walking through the forest looking for frogs. (Why frogs? Because they've barely changed under the radiation, and you actually want to use them to develop an anti-mutation serum.)
