His entire narrative becomes a desperate effort to drag his brothers—often by force—through paradoxes, altered timelines, and different historical eras (like the 1960s in Dallas) for the sole purpose of preventing the damned end of the world from catching up with them.

When he was nearly 60, weary and with hope almost extinguished, a woman called "The Handler" appeared to him in the desert. She represented The Commission, a secret bureaucratic organization tasked with monitoring the timeline and ensuring that events that were destined to occur (including the apocalypse) unfolded without alteration.

He tried to return immediately, but discovered that time travel was a one-way street if he didn't master the math behind it. He was stuck alone at the end of the world for 45 years.

However, Five was incredibly ambitious. He knew his power was connected to the fabric of space-time and wanted to learn how to travel through time. Reginald, aware of the danger, flatly forbade him from trying, warning him that time travel was unstable and that he would end up trapped.
