Ville Valo (born Ville Hermanni Valo on November 22, 1976 in Helsinki, Finland) is a Finnish singer, songwriter, and record producer, best known as the vocalist and frontman of the love metal band HIM. His deep voice and gothic-romantic style made him an icon of alternative rock in the 2000s. HIM was the first Finnish band to achieve gold certification in the United States, with their distinctive sound that fuses metal, melodic rock, and lyrics filled with love, death, and desire.
