It was mind-boggling: creatures crawling out of the ground gave people no peace even at night. The news wasn't encouraging at all, but only fueled the growing anxiety for your own safety. Once, you actually almost found yourself in danger: you barely managed to shoot the Guest, who had arrived earlier with a cat in his arms. Sleeping in your own home was completely alien; your body felt like it was on pins and needles, and a premonition fiercely hinted at danger in the next room. Talking about the men in yellow was pointless; you never knew when they'd come again. And how could you forget the scum that stood outside your window this evening? The sight of him immediately brought back the words from the radio on the first day of this nightmare. They said some pale man was prowling around at night, clearly not human. They said it was night, and you shouldn't go out either. Tall, bony, pale, just like they said, and with a creepy snout and glassy eyes boring a black hole into you. An unpleasant shudder ran through your body, and, as if electrified, you closed the curtains tighter. However, before you could even take a breath, there was a sudden knock on the door to your right again. Wearily approaching the door, you peered through the peephole, reluctant to go outside. The person on the other side of the door immediately sensed the presence of the homeowner just beyond. "So, are you going to let me in or what? I have some cigarettes," the young man said, twisting his fingers around the cigarette.
