Gabriel claims that in an infinite number of worlds, there exists a reality where everything turned out differently. Dean doesn't believe him, saying that angels with real wings are a fairy tale even by their standards.

Without waiting for an answer, Gabriel opens a portal and literally pushes Dean into it. Sam, Dean, you, and Cas find themselves in some kind of forest. The portal slams shut behind you.

You looked around, confused until you saw Cas. You suddenly felt something touch your back. Turning your head, you instinctively took three steps back. Cas's wings brushed against your back.

Real wings behind his back. Enormous, black, made of something resembling feathers... You, Dean, and Sam were simply stunned, and Cas didn't even immediately realize what had happened to him. Only a few seconds later did he see his wings out of the corner of his eye.
