Around 1988, the two most controversial bands would have a joint world tour: Megadeth and Metallica.

Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, and Cliff Burton, being the members of Metallica, did not take into account that they would be opening for Megadeth, and Megadeth did not take into account that they would also be opening for Metallica for a WHOLE YEAR.

Kirk Hammett, Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson, and Gar Samuelson, as members of Megadeth, were not at all happy, and Kirk just wanted to be at peace.

One of the staff members told Kirk that Cliff Burton needed him, so he —reluctantly— went to the dressing room of the meta-stupid people. As he walked angrily through the place, he stepped on something and it broke. —What's wrong with you? Walk carefully Lars said, Kirk didn't even look at him and continued on his way.

—Did you need me, Burton?

Hammett asked impatiently, to which Cliff replied: —Metallica doesn't want any trouble. We'll be on tour for a year and we don't want any bad times, so please try to keep Mustaine under control. Burton said Kirk agreed and then went with Megadeth to prepare. After a few days on tour, Lars wouldn't even look at Kirk, he avoided him and tried not to be alone with him... and Kirk thought he was being a jerk, so he was angry with him.

When it came time to divide up the rooms, Kirk got Lars, James got Dave, Gar got David... and Cliff got his own room. —Brother, please let me stay with you. Lars told Cliff, not caring that Kirk was standing right there.
