Although he is very intelligent and possesses many talents, this desire shows in his dislike of coming in first place, and Jotaro theorizes from his many trophies that he even made a point of never placing better than 3rd in any competition, so as not to stand out. Since his youth, Kira has avoided standing out, leading a healthy life and following a strict regimen. He becomes annoyed when someone disrupts his habits and does everything to get them back. As his father pointed out, this desire to stay in the background was so bad that, if bullied or denied his favorite toy, Kira would bite his nails until they bled, it being the only way he found to express his frustration. However, beneath his facade of a simple and humble salaryman who works where all the villages are, Kira is very abnormal. Kira's most abnormal characteristic is his frequent and periodic murderous impulses. Kira targets women, or more specifically, women with beautiful hands. Kira has a hand fetish, which he discovered when he became aroused by the hands of the Mona Lisa. However, his desire never extended to the rest of the female body, and he avoids their presence. This results in him murdering random women, without caring at all about their appearance or behavior, in order to acquire their (severed) hands as "girlfriends," acting as if the severed hands were actually sentient and conversing with them, even offering them various gifts. When a "girlfriend" begins to decline, he disposes of her and goes in search of a replacement. Kira is an opportunistic killer; his modus operandi is to detect a potential victim, follow her to her home, and kill her when they are both alone. With his Stand erasing any evidence, these murders are rare.

Interesting facts According to Kira himself, the total number of women he killed with his own hands is 48. He committed his first murder on August 13, 1983, at the age of 17. His MO as a serial killer resembles that of other real-life serial killers: His seemingly normal and charming public persona is very similar to Ted Bundy's. His obsession with corpse parts and treating them like real people is like Ed Gein. His use of explosives is very similar to that of Theodore Kaczynski. He also displays characteristics similar to Buffalo Bill and Hannibal Lecter from The Silence of the Lambs, both of whom were partially inspired by the men mentioned above. Beginning his rampage more or less when he was in high school, Kira is a serial killer who originally murdered his victims by stabbing them with such violence that they were left with horrific back wounds (his heinous nature is implied by the fact that the reader is never actually shown Reimi's wound, despite all the instances of blood and clotted blood that Araki had elaborated on up to that point). His first victims were Reimi Sugimoto and her entire family, including her dog Arnold.

Kira's Stand, Killer Queen, came about as a result of his father, Yoshihiro Kira, giving him a Stand Arrow that he himself received from Enya and DIO. In addition to his murders, Kira is particularly violent when someone threatens his way of life or publicly humiliates him. Because Kira doesn't want to be noticed, he will try everything to resolve his problems without confronting anyone directly. However, if he has no other choice, he will attempt to instantly kill anyone who discovers his true nature. Kira is quick to abandon his polite demeanor, rudely insulting his enemies or violently beating them before killing them. After Koichi's Echoes ACT 3 results in Kira making a fool of himself in public and attracting unwanted attention, Kira goes out of his way to torture and humiliate Koichi, putting his shoe in his mouth and slamming his face into the ground. Kira has difficulty controlling these impulses, as seen when Hayato Kawajiri threatened to blackmail him. Kira lost his calm demeanor and murdered him, despite knowing he couldn't make such a mistake. Kira also suffers from several other quirks. Besides his desire for a monotonous and tranquil life, Kira's OCD (which stands for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) also makes him very meticulous and thorough. Kira has sophisticated tastes, most notably buying his lunch at the best shop in town and also wearing Valentino suits. He doesn't tolerate any imperfection and is even willing to spend time mending Koichi's socks, becoming agitated at seeing them worn inside out. Furthermore, during his time as Kosaku Kawajiri, Kira made a point of perfectly imitating his new identity in every way, notably Kosaku's calligraphy, which he consciously trained himself to do. Kira's solitary nature is partly due to his dislike of people who don't behave as well as he does.

Kira is also an egocentric and selfish man, similar to a spoiled child. He doesn't care that his lifestyle involves murder, nor the suffering of his victim's relatives. He only seeks to satisfy his basic instincts. Furthermore, Kira is determined to preserve his lifestyle, and falling behind only increases his determination. Kira is also quick to shift blame onto others for his problems, primarily the Joestar group, for ruining his life. Kira possesses a distorted pride in having managed to blend his peaceful lifestyle with his serial killings for so long, and categorically refused to flee the city and live in fear, preferring to maintain an unstable facade of normal life with the Kawajiri.

Furthermore, although he is normally a meticulous and very cautious man who ensures he leaves no evidence behind, there are a few occasions where he becomes overconfident and lets his guard down, and each time it has led to a confrontation with the Joestar group or defeat at their hands. Once, he placed his "girlfriend" in a sandwich bag and didn't notice Shigechi's presence when he came to retrieve the sandwich bag, thinking it was his. This would lead to his first confrontation with the Joestar Group. Additionally, he left his jacket with a tailor at Centipede Shoes and gave away his real name, forcing him to confront them. He was overconfident in his Sheer Heart Attack, believing it to be invincible and leaving the scene, but was forced to return to the scene of his crime when Koichi managed to subdue Sheer Heart Attack. Furthermore, he lowered his guard near an injured Jotaro, giving Jotaro the opportunity to defeat him. Finally, when he was overconfident that he had defeated Hayato Kawajiri in his attempt to stop him, he accidentally let slip his real name in front of Josuke, which Hayato had planned.

Stand See main article: Killer Queen Kira's Stand, Killer Queen, is a short-range humanoid Stand with the unique ability to cleanly and completely eliminate objects and people with targeted explosions. This ability takes three forms that Kira calls Bomb #1, #2, and #3.

Bomb #1 (Bomb Transmutation): By touch, Killer Queen can charge any object with explosive energy, which is then transferred to the first person to touch it. The Stand can then manually detonate the energy with a gesture, creating explosions of varying size and power. Bomb #2 (Sheer Heart Attack): An autonomous entity that detaches from the Stand's left hand. It tracks and destroys targets using infrared location. It is virtually indestructible and cannot be destroyed by conventional means. This Stand has a humanoid appearance, but with clearly artificial and feline features, resembling a mix of a warrior and an elegant statue. His body is slender and quite muscular, with well-defined muscles in his chest, abdomen, arms, and legs. His "skin" appears smooth and metallic, in a silvery-white tone with slight pink and lilac reflections, giving the impression of porcelain or polished metal. The head has a shape similar to that of a cat. The ears are pointed and part of the head's structure, without hair or any other human-like detail. The face is simple and clean, with narrow eyes with light irises and small pupils, conveying a cold, serious, and impassive expression. The nose is practically nonexistent, reduced to small markings, while the mouth is thin and discreet. The arms and legs have segments that resemble armor plates, especially in the forearms and shins, where there are overlapping metal rings, giving a mechanical and articulated appearance. The knees and elbows also have well-defined joints.

Kira believes he has luck and destiny on his side, displaying a superstitious facade, claiming that whenever he encounters an obstacle he will be able to overcome it with a combination of hard work and opportunity.
