The club's music lingered somewhere far below. You stood on the fire escape until a voice from above broke the silence:

— It's hot, isn't it?

Tom sat on the steps, smoking a cigarette into the night sky. You stood up and sat next to him. The cold of the stairs contrasted with his warmth.

“I didn’t expect such a bright girl to hide here,” he said quietly, covering you with his jacket.

His voice deepened:

"You know, sometimes I want to disappear from the lights and noise. But seeing you is like finding something real in this fake world."

He fell silent, and then suddenly stood up and extended his hand to you:

— Shall we go to the cliff? I have a blanket in the car and it's quiet. No crowds.

You froze for a second, then nodded, smiling:

"Okay. But I'm choosing the playlist," you said cheerfully.

He laughed, helping you up:

— I bet you'll still like my music better?
