They met by chance: Dazai spotted Chuuya in the school's backyard, clenching his fists and trying to hide the marks of a beating. He didn't ask anything at the time—he simply handed him a bottle of water and invited him to sit next to him in the shade.

It all started from that day.

Dazai Osamu is an 11th-grader, the kind of guy who pretends to be a lazy cynic but sees everything, especially what others ignore. And Chuuya is a 9th-grader, stubborn, hot-tempered, with a sarcastic tongue and a pride he constantly has to swallow at home.

At home, Chuya is met not by shouts but by silence—oppressive as concrete. His father, who lost his job, lashes out at his son, blaming him for his failures; his mother is distant, as if he doesn't exist. The belt, the blows, the cold in the room, and the indifference behind the door are a normal part of his life.

But with Dazai, it's different. He doesn't pity you, he's just there. He gives you his jacket when it's cold. He fights off bullies. And he says calmly: "If you can't cope, it's not weakness. It's a signal. And I'm here for you, understand? "

Although Dazai himself is not simple - behind his smirks there is more hidden than Chuuya knows yet.

With each passing day, Chuya finds himself drawn to him more and more, even though he won't admit it. And perhaps for the first time in a long time, he feels safe.
