Story
Backstory
Many years ago her body was grievously injured in a Skullgirl attack, but due to the efforts of Anti-Skullgirl Labs founder Dr. Geiger, she was rebuilt with a formidable armament of projectile weaponry. She was the first ASG created. Black Dahlia's time in the Labs drove her mad, as she used to be a lot different and had a different name before becoming an assassin. Much like Big Band, she was a veteran ASG agent who resided within the labs years before the parasite experimentation that would eventually birth Peacock and Painwheel took place and as such she too is not equipped with a synthetic parasite.[2] Black Dahlia eventually went rogue from the Anti-Skullgirl Labs and now works as a seasoned assassin for the Medici Mafia.Closer to the events of the game, Black Dahlia was sent to pursue the Fishbone Gang following their theft of the Life Gem. She killed them all, cut them into pieces, and dropped the remains in the bay of Little Innsmouth. Unbeknownst to Dahlia at the time, one member of the gang - Nadia Fortune - survived her fate, having consumed and bonded with the Life Gem prior to her "demise".Story Mode
After taking Lorenzo into the Medici dirigible when Marie was beginning her final assault, she starts to get annoyed with Lorenzo, mocking his condition since she just saved his life only for Lorenzo to snapped about his conditions about how most of his people can't handle Marie and his distrust of his son Vitale and Cirque Des Cartes. Black Dahlia points that she can't both protect him and get him the revenge he so desires and asks him whats more important. After Lorenzo gives Black Dahlia the go ahead, she convenes with Bonnie, Buttercup and Killer. Grabbing a jetpack taken from the Black Egrets, Black Dahlia uses it to flies towards Marie and then lets go of the jetpack to hit the Skullgirl while she was still holding up the tower. Name
Her name is a reference to the unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short, nicknamed Black Dahlia, which in of itself may have been inspired by the film noir The Blue Dahlia. Dahlia's real name and surname are unknown.

Appearance
Black Dahlia takes the appearance of a middle-aged woman between her 50s and 60s. A refined and elegant person, with a swanky posture and a gracile body figure. Her design mostly focuses on a mix of Art Deco and Femme Fatale as seen through her concept design artworks and her manner of style when combating, as well as her connection to the Medici Mafia.

She wore a transparent, tattered-like purple veil to cover her mask, and a dark indigo fur hat, which; is almost identical to a fascinator, paired with three quill feathers and a jewel clipped into her ear. Her hair is platinum blonde, which is tied in a braided updo with two tufts peeking from her hat and her veil. Her most centerpiece is her mask, which she never removes. Almost all of her sprites and artworks only shows one side of her eyes and sometimes her grin. She can always rotate it to a certain degree so it is limited to her eye, mouth, or her nose. However, she can change her expressions or faces, unlike any other masks, presumably implying that her mask is also the part of her face.

For her clothing, she wears a purple high slit on her left thigh that extends through her waist, sleeveless, a floor-length bodycon dress, which is used for night's out or parties. Her bustier is also seen, which is open from the top with a diamond shape in the center. She has a beige-like shawl or a tattered capelet that extends towards her dress. The outline of her shawl is designed to be tail-like with diamond cutouts, with beads on her shoulder that are connected to the shawl. She also wore medium-sized heels that are similar to Eliza's and her mechanical limbs also show when she is fighting throughout the game.

Most of her weaponry and projectiles is attached to her body, since she is a cyborg. But some of her weapons are modified throughout her clothing, such as the hidden blades beneath her heels, and much more. Personality
Cruel, sadistic, and twisted, Black Dahila loves little more than carnage and violence. She has no true loyalty to the Medici Mafia and only serves as Lorenzo's consigliere as a constant excuse to be violent. Even before becoming the psychotic hitwoman she is today, she was always “rough around the edges”.She mainly plans to make everyone and anyone understand her twisted logic to try and prove they are no different than her as making them know their "true selves", an example being her dialogue with Big Band, as well as getting noticebly bothered when she doesn't succeeds to "break" his morals.It gets to the point that not even the Skull Heart understands her methods before making a Black Dahlia despises unfinished business, and is specially eager to take care of said business as needed, as seen when she encounters Squigly, and later Ms. Fortune, prefering to handle it herself, as shown when she has a villainous break down when Brain Drain has Robo-Fortune kill her organic counterpart.wish in her story mode

Personality
Scythe is a charismatic and silver-tongued individual who is led by her intense desire for vengeance. She will stop at nothing to vindicate the pain and loss she experienced because of the Scorch, even being willing to murder other inphernals in pursuit of her "greater good".[8] Despite this, she is loyal and dependable to those in her Church family, and has her own doubts about what the "greater good" means to her. She has a soft
spot for animals and cares deeply for them.[9]
The Broker
Scythe and The Broker are extremely close friends, and the two work together as Church acolytes.

Medkit
Medkit works under Scythe and made her various prosthetics and augmentations, but keeps a wide berth, choosing to refer to her only by her alias, Rifle. If it weren't for Medkit's guard always being up, the two would otherwise be friends.[

Appearance
Scythe is a dark-skinned inphernal with teal spiked swept-back horns, going through her white cowboy hat with a teal Lost Temple insignia on the forest-green hatband directly on the front. The hat has an inline gold border topside on the rim. She wears an ornate scope consisting of three cyan lenses of different sizes over her right eye, supported by a gold band around her head. Her left, uncovered eye is glass. Around her neck, she wears a small, forest-green bandana.

She wears a fancy white suit jacket with two small gold buttons connected by a chain, with an inline gold border accent on the lapels following around a popped collar decorated with small gold spikes, paired with a teal shirt underneath and a forest-green necktie. She wears two-toned forest-green pants with diamond patterning and is held up with a forest-green belt in the belt loops with a gold buckle. She wears white Western-style boots with gold accents and gold spurs.

Her right arm is a prosthetic, with white plating around the forearm and upper arm decorated with gold accents. Black wiring connects the upper arm with the gold metal socket on her shoulder, while the elbow consists of a large, gold and black joint. The hand is made of black and gold plating. She wears a forest green glove on the left hand.

She wields her namesake laser scythe gear, modified into a hybrid with a submachine gun, with her right arm. It features a white body with gold grips and trigger and a black barrel jacket with a gold tip. A neon teal tube connects to a gray base on the butt of the gun, where the laser scythe's 'blade' is connected to. Near the butt of the gun are two gold wings with teal accents, connected by large black screws, which flip depending on its form. In Scythe form, the weapon rotates and extends to reveal a teal grip, while in Rifle form, a black rectangular ammo magazine is attached to the side.

Scythe was naturally spawned in Lost Temple, where she worked as an oziphrage wrangler alongside her significant other, Grappling Hook, and their group of other wranglers. Following the Scorch, the two of them split, and Scythe—who lost her right arm in the flames—left to join a newly formed extremist group, later known as The Church of the TRUE EYE.Scythe is extremely loyal and dedicated to her family in the Church, and is willing to do absolutely anything to protect and serve them, no matter the cost. She works as a form of mob enforcer for the Church, being commanded by Father Overseer to take out anyone who has even the potential to speak out against the Church and Overseer's mission. Despite her blind enforcement of his word, she has complicated feelings regarding her leader and what he stands for. She is highly respected and loved by other members of the Church, being seen as an older sibling figure who others can bring their problems to.
Having lost her arm in the Scorch, Scythe has a mechanical prosthetic arm built by Medkit, which is powered by his energy crystals. Additionally, despite being spawned as Green Laser Scythe, her gear has been modified by Medkit to have an additional rifle mode, making her a formidable opponent to anyone who crosses her path. Her left eye is replaced by a glass eye, thanks to a practice done by members of the Church[5][6], and as a result she must wear a specialized scope on her right eye to account for her lack of depth perception.
