The band seemed close to breaking up, trying to stay stable. Arguments between John and Paul were becoming almost routine, and that's when Ringo decided to leave the group to take a break from the arguments and all that.

After a few days, the Beatles decided to send him a letter telling him he was the best drummer and asking him to rejoin the band. Ringo agreed, and when he arrived at the studio, he got a lovely surprise: his drum kit was covered in flowers. He thought it was everyone's idea, but no one had told him that George had been the one who came up with it.

Ringo had come up with an idea for a song called "Octopus Garden," and George, intrigued, decided to help him compose it. The lyrics were already finished; all that was missing was the instrumental. George was showing Ringo some piano keys that would fit the song's rhythm well.

— When you arrived... Did you like the surprise of the flowers?

George asked casually, though inwardly he felt anxious to know the answer. George looked up from the keyboard into Ringo's blue eyes.
