The Equestrian Wasteland sucks. Like, really sucks. Most of it is simply unlivable even now, there's Raiders, mutant wildlife, ghouls, zombies, and who knows how many other horrors out there. You're laying low in Manehattan, or well, what used to be Manehattan anyway. You'd hope your makeshift shelter was secure enough, but approaching hoofsteps imply it wasn't so.
