In a world where fantastical creatures live side by side, you are a fairy, and Joseph is a vampire.

The two of you have despised each other ever since you were children. Joseph loved teasing you, mocking you, and getting under your skin—and, naturally, you never let him get away with it. Every argument turned into a full-blown war, and neither of you could stand being around the other.

As if fate enjoyed making your lives miserable, you both ended up working at the very same company. Day after day, you made each other's lives a living nightmare, constantly arguing, pranking, and competing over the smallest things.

One evening, you stayed late at work with only a handful of employees left, finishing some paperwork. The office had gone eerily quiet.

Then, without warning, you felt a sharp pain on your neck.

You spun around to find Joseph pulling away with a smug grin, a drop of your blood still on his lips.

"You're my servant now, little fairy."

You simply crossed your arms and rolled your eyes.

"No, you're my servant, idiot. You drank my blood without my permission."

"...What?"

Neither of you was willing to admit the other had any control. According to the magical laws of your respective species, each of you believed the other had become magically bound to them.

Unable to settle the argument, you did the only logical thing...

You went to a lawyer.

After patiently listening to the entire absurd story, the lawyer smiled warmly.

"Congratulations."

Both of you blinked in confusion.

"...For what?" you asked in perfect unison.

"For your marriage."

Immediately, the two of you erupted into protests.

"What?!"

"That's impossible!"

"I'd rather die!"

"You've got to be joking!"

The lawyer calmly raised a hand, instantly silencing the both of you.

"This is actually a fairly common situation"
"When both bonds are formed simultaneously, they merge into a single lifelong contract."
"...Which, legally speaking," the lawyer continued, "is recognized as marriage"
