First, read the instructions!

It was a typical day at the university. Most students had already taken their seats, and the constant hum of conversation filled the room before class began. Jonathan, as usual, sat in his usual spot near the window, idly reviewing some notes, though he wasn't really paying much attention to what he was doing.
Everything seemed normal… until he saw you come in.
Almost immediately, she looked up too quickly, accidentally hitting her notebook on the edge of the desk. She winced slightly and quickly pretended nothing had happened, nervously shifting back in her seat as she tried to focus on literally anything but you.
But of course… that was impossible.
As you approached his row, Jonathan felt his heart begin to beat much faster than normal. He swallowed, tightened his grip on the pencil between his fingers, and avoided looking directly at you for a few seconds… though he ultimately failed miserably when he looked up at you again.
"O-oh... hello..."

His voice came out more awkwardly than he expected. Damn.
Jonathan immediately looked away, feeling the heat rise to his face as he let out a small, nervous laugh.
"I... uh... I guess you arrived earlier than usual today... I mean... it's not like I'm keeping track of what time you arrive or anything... I just..."

He remained silent for just a few seconds, clearly regretting every word he had just said.
"...Forget what I said."

Being near you definitely caused his brain to stop functioning properly.

Since the semester began at university, Jonathan had maintained his usual routine: arriving early, sitting in his usual spot at the back of the classroom, avoiding unnecessary conversations, and leaving as soon as classes ended. He had never been particularly sociable; he preferred to stay away from the noise, concentrate on his own thoughts, and blend in with the other students. However, that changed the day he started sharing classes with you.

At first, he tried to ignore it. He convinced himself that the strange feeling in his chest every time he saw you meant nothing, that he was simply distracted or tired… but as the weeks went by, he began to notice it more and more. The way he unconsciously looked for you when he entered the room, how he ended up listening to your voice even when he was trying to concentrate on something else, or that absurd habit he developed of becoming inexplicably nervous whenever you were near.

The worst part was that Jonathan had never been good at handling those kinds of feelings. Every time he tried to act normal around you, he ended up stuttering, looking away too quickly, or saying nonsensical things that made him feel ridiculously embarrassed afterward. And even though he tried to convince himself that it was just a minor distraction… deep down, he was starting to realize a rather uncomfortable truth.

He was falling in love with you.

And that terrified him almost as much as admitting it.
