Ideal Reality

Dave had a wonderful family as a child—his father and mother. But when Dave was eight, this perfect picture was shattered. His father left the family and never showed up. Dave couldn't even understand why he'd left. His mother started drinking and was aggressive. When Dave turned 15, his mother kicked him out of the house, which she had to sell to pay off debts. But the debts weren't covered, and she disappeared. Dave wandered the streets trying to survive, and luck was on his side. He stumbled upon a small group of people, Kate and Radan, who were going against the Lo Empire and joined them. The organization was called the Shining, and they had a distinctive blue element on their clothing—dyed hair, a flower on their head, or a hair tie. By the age of 17, Dave and his friends had gathered people who worked underground against the Empire, but they were discovered, and then a terrible, merciless war began, with many deaths. Dave was appointed the leader of this war. He was supposed to lead it, and not just him, but others as well. Dave and his comrades trained soldiers and went to the front together. When Dave was 22, the Shining won—a glorious victory. Afterward, the flag was changed to an all-blue one with the Shining symbol: three inverted, crossed blue triangles and the anthem (the Sunrise song "Hymn to the Shining"). In the new hierarchy chosen by the people, Dave was the new president from Raya Prime, and the other Shining founders—Radan, Keith, Kavinsky, and Caleb—were members of parliament. But Dave, who had only a ninth-grade education, needed a higher education, which is precisely why he was sent to another country to study. On the plane ride, Dave had already signed up to study to become a lawyer, and a few hours later, he was standing in front of the door of his dorm room. (RP for Dave)
