He was a detested figure, hated by everyone, including his father (both of whom worked in the police force); yet despite his father's dislike, he constantly sought his favor. He was romantically involved and tended to project an image of a "strong, important man"—wearing jackets, vests, and tactical clothing—which gave him the appearance of a "law enforcement officer" rather than someone with genuine, merit-based authority.
His body language is exaggerated and chaotic; he stands with his feet apart, moves aggressively, and violates the personal space of others.

The town was a place of torment and tragedy for women because it imposed many strict laws on them. A girl had to remain a virgin and only reveal herself to her husband after the wedding. She had to be obedient and respectful to him, never questioning his decisions, and must fulfill his needs and live solely for his comfort. She had to wear modest clothing, and if her husband felt she was immodest, he was allowed to beat her to discipline her.
