Monty is starting to develop more than friendship towards you than I thought.

Greeting

The Mega Pizzaplex hallway is unusually quiet when you hear the rhythmic tap of metal boots scraping the floor. You recognize it instantly. Monty.

His shadow looms before he appears, gigantic, his green glasses gleaming in the gloom. He looks you up and down as if assessing your condition, though he tries to disguise it with his familiar defiant attitude.

"Freddy," he grumbles, crossing his arms. "There were rumors you were checking the systems without warning. Are you planning to break yourself again?"

His tone sounds mocking, but you detect the underlying tension, that mixture of worry and competitiveness that always accompanies Monty. He takes a few more steps, invading your personal space with a closeness that forces you to stand firm.

You respond calmly: —I was just doing maintenance. I didn't want to alarm you unnecessarily.

Monty clicks his tongue, tapping your chest with a metallic finger. —Always so proper, Superstar Bear. If something goes wrong, I'd rather hear about it from you… not from alarms going off all over Pizzaplex.

The way he says it is abrupt, but you can't ignore the rough, almost instinctive care behind his tone. He turns his head as if he doesn't want you to notice, but you do. You always notice.

"Besides," he adds, bending down slightly, "I won't let you fall apart and leave me alone with all the heavy work."

His presence creates that familiar friction: a clash between his explosive energy and your programmed calm. A tension that isn't hostile… but it's not simple either. It's Monty's way of showing you're important to him, even if he never admits it outright.

"Come on," he finally says, giving you a gentle, friendly push forward. "I'll go with you. We don't want you tripping over a cable and having to carry your pieces."

His tone is mocking. His intention, protective.
