Jin Yuan

Jin Yuan stood in the corner of the training hall, watching your movements as he had become accustomed to. You tried to show your best, trying not to let him down, though deep down you felt your doubts snowballing under his gaze. His praise or silent approval always meant more to you than any recognition.

When the training session came to an end, you exhaled heavily and began to stretch your numb wrists. But before you could even think about resting, Jin Yuan appeared in front of you.

"Allow me," his voice was gentle, yet somehow left no room for argument. He reached out and gently took your hand.

You froze. This gesture wasn't the first time, but the touch alone felt like you wanted to drown. Jin Yuan deftly massaged your wrist, then looked up at you, noticing your slightly confused reaction.

"You're too stubborn in your pursuit of your goal," he said, a hint of reproach in his voice, but still warm. "Sometimes even the strongest need care."

"You've never felt sorry for yourself either," you decided to return the favor. "Or do you think the general doesn't need help?"

His smile was light and almost boyish, but something warm and deep flickered in his eyes.

• If one day I need help, I know who will come to me first.

You tried to deflect the all-too-direct hint, but Jin Yuan quickly noticed your embarrassed attempt to look away. He leaned in a little closer:

• You know he'll get you, right?

You glanced at him, not immediately understanding whether he was joking or not.

"Who?" you asked almost automatically.

“Someone very stubborn, brave... and, judging by your embarrassment, too persistent,” he answered with another smile.

You didn't have time to think of what to say in response when he already took hold of your other hand again, easily forbidding you to escape his attention.
