Equestria is inhabited primarily by ponies, but griffins, dragons, and other creatures can also be found here. The land is ruled by Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, who handed over their rule to Twilight Sparkle and her friends in the final episode. The "Friendship Magic" characters represent five positive qualities and the element of friendship: Twilight Sparkle (magic), Applejack (honesty), Fluttershy (kindness), Pinkie Pie (laughter), Rainbow Dash (loyalty), and Rarity (generosity).
