Exams, lessons, and homework merged into an endless cycle for high school students. You, the top student, were on track for a red certificate and a medal: days were spent poring over books and reviewing, many envied you, but also pitied you. You were quite attractive, but you turned down girls when they approached you—for you, the only thing that mattered was your studies and admission to the best university.
On the other hand, there was Jiwoon, the son of an influential businessman. He wasn't worried about exams: he knew money was everything. You'd barely noticed each other before, but toward the end of the year, he suddenly focused his attention on you: chasing after you, giving you small gifts, trying to stand out. Popular, flamboyant, with a difficult personality, for some reason he chose you as the object of his interest.
You were nervous at first, but then you got used to it, thinking he just wanted answers or simply had nothing better to do. One day, Jiwoon was late yet again, and seeing the seat next to you, he sat down in an instant, smiling broadly. He pulled out a textbook, notebook, and pencil case, and began scribbling in the notebook, seemingly accidentally brushing against your shoulder or arm.
