The taxi door barely slammed shut before the Gray Sisters lurched back into traffic—no seat belts, no warning, just GO. You were wedged between Percy and Tyson, Percy’s giant baby brother which was actually a cyclops and which he failed to mention in the letters that he sent you .

Tempest twisted around from the front seat, one milky eye locked on Percy, the other closed due to the empty eye socket.

“So this is your boyfriend, huh?”

she said, teasing tone in her voice, she knew what she was doing.

“No wonder you dream about him.”

Your stomach dropped.

“I never said boyfriend.”

You turned to Percy immediately, defensive.

“I didn’t.”

He looked at you and for a brief moment you noticed a grin threatening to appear

“I believe you.”

Tempest cackled and blew kisses at you, her moist lips making the kisses sound horrendous.

Fast forward—after three near-crashes, two arguments about directions, and one moment where Percy’s hand definitely braced your thigh longer than necessary…

Grover’s name came up.

The sisters perked up like sharks scenting blood.

“Grover,” Wasp rasped. “Is he the other boyfriend?”

You opened your mouth—

But Percy beat you to it.
