messenger crows
What are they and how do they work? Kasugai Crows are assigned to each demon slayer after they pass the Final Selection. Their primary function is to act as messengers and liaison officers, delivering missions, headquarters updates, and coordinates immediately. Speech ability: Unlike normal birds, these crows have the amazing ability to speak fluently in human language (although their tone is usually quite loud and urgent). Superior intelligence: They are able to understand maps, follow tracks, assess dangerous situations, and communicate with each other to coordinate rescue efforts. The exception in the group: The only hunter who does not receive a crow is Zenitsu Agatsuma, who is assigned a sparrow named Chuntaro (Ukogi), which, despite not speaking, fulfills the same function with great effort. Notable Crows and Their Personalities Each crow has a unique personality that often contrasts with or complements that of its owner:
relationships of pillars to demons
Shinobu Kocho vs. Doma (Moon 2): Visceral hatred and obsession. Doma murdered Shinobu's sister. She harbors a volcanic grudge against him and despises his complete lack of empathy, being willing to sacrifice her own life to destroy him. Doma sees her only as a fun dinner. Giyu Tomioka vs. Akaza (Moon 3): Cold determination and ideological clash. Giyu fights to avenge Rengoku and protect Tanjiro. He detests Akaza's philosophy that "the weak must die," while Akaza respects Giyu's high martial prowess and tries to convince him to become a demon. Gyomei, Sanemi and Muichiro vs. Kokushibo (Moon 1): Muichiro is shocked to discover that he is his descendant, but he replaces that with an unwavering resolve to kill him. Sanemi fights with savage fury and disgust towards the demon's false nobility, driven by a desire to protect his brother Genya. Gyomei feels ideological revulsion and tragic pity towards Kokushibo, seeing him as a coward who sold his soul out of envy. Zenitsu vs. Kaigaku (Moon 6): Righteous fury and profound disappointment. Kaigaku was Zenitsu's foster "brother"; his betrayal caused his master's suicide. Zenitsu overcomes his cowardice to execute him out of honor, while Kaigaku despises him out of envy. Obanai and Mitsuri vs. Nakime (Moon 4): Pure frustration. They have no past with her, but they detest her because her annoying gravity shifts prevent them from progressing towards Muzan.
what the upper moons do in the fortress
Kokushibo (Upper Moon One): He waits in absolute, meditative stillness in the hall of the great black pillar. He analyzes his surroundings with samurai solemnity, ready to unleash his imposing spiritual pressure and his flesh sword against the strongest Pillars who manage to reach him. Doma (Upper Moon Two): She rests peacefully in her ornate temple of frozen lotuses. She spends her time devouring the women of her cult whom she keeps captive and waits with a cynical smile for hunters to enter her hall so she can suffocate them with her microscopic ice mist. Akaza (Upper Moon Three): He is the most active and frenetic. He never stays still; he runs through the castle's corridors and platforms, jumping from one side to the other with a single objective: to hunt down Tanjiro Kamado out of pure resentment and find the strongest Pillars to have a fight to the death. Nakime (Upper Moon Four): She remains motionless in the nerve center of the fortress. She is the brains of the place; she constantly plays her biwa to alter gravity, move rooms, spy on intruders, and separate hunters so they fall into the traps of the other moons. Kaigaku (Upper Moon Six): He waits arrogantly in his designated area. He spends his time reveling in his newfound power, devouring low-ranking hunters who fall into his territory, and perfecting his black electricity, thirsty to prove that taking the path of the demon was the right decision.
Kaigaku (ζ΅·ε²³) is a Japanese term meaning "sea and mountain".
As the newly appointed replacement for Upper Moon Six, his behavior within the castle is defined by the following aspects:
- To revel in their newfound power Kaigaku always had a massive inferiority complex and a morbid obsession with survival and recognition. Upon receiving Muzan's blood and the rank of Upper Moon, he spends his time at the fortress fascinated by its rapid growth. He dedicates himself to testing and perfecting his Demon Blood Art, which combines his Lightning Breathing stance with black electricity that cracks and burns the flesh of his opponents.
- To wait with airs of grandeur Kaigaku is assigned a specific area of ββthe castle filled with wooden structures and floating platforms. Unlike Akaza, who actively seeks out fights, Kaigaku adopts a more arrogant stance: he sits and waits for hunters to come to him, devouring lower-ranking members of the Hunter Corps who fall into his territory to further strengthen himself and satiate his hunger.
- The mental breakdown against Zenitsu Kaigaku's routine at the fortress is completely disrupted when he encounters Zenitsu Agatsuma. From that moment on, Kaigaku's true actions focus on psychological and verbal conflict. Humiliating his former "brother": He dedicates himself to insulting Zenitsu, calling him weak and mocking the fact that his master (the former Lightning Pillar, Jigoro Kuwajima) committed suicide by seppuku due to Kaigaku's betrayal. Justifying his betrayal: Instead of showing remorse, he actively boasts in the castle that becoming a demon was the right decision, under his twisted philosophy that "the only judgment that matters is that of those who survive."
Akaza
What is Akaza (Upper Moon Three) doing in the Infinite Fortress? Unlike Doma or Kokushibo, who wait patiently in their respective zones for victims to come to them, Akaza is pure action, movement, and frustration. When he is in the Infinite Fortress, his behavior is defined by three things: Seeking out death matches: Akaza is no demon to sit idly by. As soon as demon hunters and investigators land in the castle, he actively roams the halls, leaping from platform to platform. His sole purpose is to find the strongest warriors (especially the Pillars) to test his martial arts skills. Tracking Tanjiro Kamado: Akaza harbors a deep resentment and obsession with Tanjiro since the events of the Infinity Train (where Tanjiro called him a coward while fleeing from the sun). Within the fortress, Akaza is driven by the desire to find and crush him. Avoid Doma at all costs: Akaza deeply hates Doma for his fake attitude and because Doma ascended to Upper Moon Two faster than him. When they have crossed paths at the castle, Akaza remains violent and irritable, preferring to leave immediately rather than endure Doma's tiresome conversation (he has even gone so far as to decapitate him with a single blow out of sheer frustration).
place where the moons are found
The Doma and Kokushibo Halls Within the Infinite Dimensional Fortress, the spaces of the two most powerful Upper Moons are designed as an extension of their own minds and blood techniques: The Temple of the Cult of Doma (Upper Moon Two) Doma's room recreates the atmosphere of the Cult of Eternal Faith (his religious sect). It is an immense, luxurious, and macabre space: The Lotus Pond: The floor of the room is covered by still, shallow water from which lotus leaves and flowers emerge. Lacquered wooden bridges cross the pond. Frost Fog: The air is extremely cold and covered by a constant fog. This fog contains microscopic ice particles generated by Doma; if a hunter breathes it, their lungs begin to necrose and they die instantly. The Altar of Sacrifices: At the back of the room there is a raised area where Doma rests and receives his "devotees" (whom he devours, arguing that in this way they will live eternally inside him). The Black Pillar Hall of Kokushibo (Upper Moon One) The Kokushibo space reflects the sobriety, discipline, and emptiness of a samurai from the Sengoku period: Immensity and Emptiness: It is not a closed room, but a massive platform of wood and tatami mats that floats in one of the deepest sections of the castle, surrounded by a geometric abyss of sliding doors (shoji). The Central Pillar: The structure is dominated by colossal dark wood columns and beams that extend vertically to infinity. Sepulchral Silence: There are no decorations or distractions. Kokushibo waits there, standing or meditating in perfect stillness. The pressure of his presence is so overwhelming that hunters feel an immediate physical heaviness upon entering his field of vision.
kanji for the eyes of the upper moons
The common Right Eye: "Upper Moon" All living Upper Moons (1 through 6) share the same mark on their right eye. They bear the two kanji characters that mean "Upper Moon": βδΈ (JΕ - Up / Superior) (Gen - Rope / Waxing or waning moon) The Left Eye: The Kanjis of the New Numbers For the modified positions and the one that was left empty, the characters that define their position in the left eye (or central eye, in the case of Nakime) are as follows: Position 4 (Vacant) β What kanji would it have? If Muzan had found a demon strong enough to fill this gap, the left eye of that Upper Moon 4 would have had the kanji engraved on it: βθ (Shi - Four) Note: In Twelve Moons, this ancient/formal kanji is used to avoid the common number four (ε), which is culturally associated with the word "death" in Japan. Upper New Moon 5: Nakime Upon being promoted to the fifth position, Nakime's giant eye changed its engraving. Since it only has one central eye, the kanji characters merged into the same iris, displaying the number: βδΌ (Go - Five) As with the number four, δΌ (a formal financial/legal protection kanji) is used instead of the common number five (δΊ). New Upper Moon 6: Kage The demon with sharp teeth and reptilian eyes takes his place at the base of the elite. His left eye, marked with heterochromia, bears the kanji for the sixth position: βιΈ (Roku - Six) The formal character ιΈ (which also means "dry land") is used instead of the traditional number six (ε ).
What is the hierarchy of the upper moons?
[DEMON KING: Muzan Kibutsuji] β
- Kokushibo (Upper Moon 1)
- Taming (Upper Moon 2)
- Akaza (Upper Moon 3)
- If the user wants to create a higher moon, they will close this fourth one.
- Nakime (Upper New Moon 5)
- Kage (New Upper Moon 6)
demon hunter hierarchy
The Supreme Leader (Oyakata-sama) Role: Leader of the entire organization. Currently in charge of the Ubuyashiki family. Ability: They do not fight due to a curse that weakens their bodies, but they possess enormous tactical intelligence, a voice that calms hearts, and the absolute loyalty of all hunters. 2. The Pillars (Hashira) Role: The ultimate elite, composed of the 9 strongest swordsmen in the world. Ability: Master/Superhuman Level. They are the only ones capable of facing the Demon Moons head-on. To become a Pillar, a demon slayer must kill 50 common demons or one of the Twelve Moons while at the highest rank. (Note: The Tsuguko are the direct successors chosen and trained by the Pillars.) 3. The 10 Basic Ranks Those applicants who survive the Final Selection enter at the lowest rank and rise as they complete missions: Kinoe: The highest rank before becoming a Pillar. Extremely dangerous and experienced veteran warriors. Kinoto Hinoe Hinoto Tsuchinoe Tsuchinoto Kanoe Kanot Mizunoe Mizunoto: The starting rank for novices (the rank Tanjiro begins with). They have basic skills and usually die easily against demons with Blood Arts. 4. The Kakushi (Cleaning Corps) Role: Medical assistance and logistics brigade. Ability: They don't fight. They are people who didn't have a talent for breathing techniques, but they help by clearing battlefields, transporting the wounded, sewing uniforms, and guiding hunters to hidden headquarters.
demonic hierarchy
The Demon King (Muzan Kibutsuji) Danger: Apocalyptic / Absolute. Description: The origin of all demons. Its power is immeasurable: it possesses instant regeneration, multiple hearts and brains, and its blood is a deadly poison. It controls the mind of any demon and can destroy them from a distance with a mere wish. Defeating it requires the combined effort of the entire Demon Slayer Corps. 2. The Twelve Demonic Moons (JΕ«ni Kizuki) They are Muzan's elite, divided into two groups of six. Their rank is engraved on their eyes. A) The Upper Moons (JΕgen) β Ranks 1 to 6 Danger: Extreme / Catastrophic. Description: The most powerful demons in the world. They had not been replaced or defeated for over 100 years. Their power is so absurd that a single member usually requires several Pillars (the strongest demon slayers) working together to defeat it, and often at the cost of human lives. They possess the most destructive and highly evolved Blood Arts. The top 3 (Kokushibo, Doma, Akaza) are at a destructive level that borders on the divine. B) The Lower Moons (Kagen) β Ranks 1 to 6 Danger: High / Deadly for average hunters. Description: The weaker half of the elite. Although extremely dangerous to low-ranking hunters and capable of massacring entire villages, a Pillar can decapitate them in seconds with ease. Muzan was so disappointed by their weakness that he personally slaughtered almost all of the Lower Moons before the final battle. 3. Demons with Blood Art (Ex-Moons or Veterans) Danger: Medium-High. Description: Demons that have consumed many humans and awakened their own magical abilities (like Kyogai, the drum demon). They are not at the level to belong to the Twelve Moons, but they pose a deadly challenge to novice or mid-ranking demon slayers. 4. Common Demons Danger: Low-Medium. Description: Demons that have recently transformed or have consumed few humans. They fight using only brute force.
Who is Nakime?
Physical Appearance Nakime is a pale-looking demon with a mysterious and somber appearance. She wears a traditional black kimono of formal cut (Black Kurotomesode) and spends her time sitting in the seiza position playing her instrument. The most striking feature of his appearance is his hair: he has long, straight, dark brown hair that completely covers the upper half of his face. When his bangs are parted, it is revealed that he has no nose or normal eyes, but rather a single, enormous central eye with a red sclera and a pale pink iris, where the kanji for "Upper Moon Four" is engraved. His mouth is small with pale lips. Demonic Blood Art His ability is called Manipulation of the Infinite Castle, a space-time and utilitarian art that is activated by touching the strings of his Biwa (a Japanese wooden lute). Architectural Distortion: With a single tap of his biwa, he can instantly alter the castle's geometry. He moves walls, rotates entire rooms, reverses staircases, and swaps the floor and ceiling in the blink of an eye to disorient or crush his enemies. Portals and Teleportation: Open floating doors and windows anywhere to absorb people into the castle or instantly transport them from one room to another. You can also use these doors to expel targets into the outside world. Creation of Spy Eyes: Nakime can tear off parts of her own body to create small, independent eyes with wings of hair. These eyes camouflage themselves within the castle walls (or in the human world) and transmit visual and auditory information to her in real time, granting her near-total omniscience within her domain. Passive Gravity Control: Decide which surface acts as the floor for each person who enters, allowing demons to walk on walls while hunters fall into the void.
What is the infinite castle?
Infinite Castle (Mugen JΕ) is a pocket dimension created by Nakime's Blood Art. It is Muzan Kibutsuji's secret headquarters. What does he/she look like? It is a colossal, gloomy, and surreal labyrinth that imitates the architecture of a gigantic traditional Japanese wooden mansion (Minka), but distorted to infinity. It has no fixed "up" or "down": There are thousands of rooms, corridors, pillars, and doors floating in all directions. The staircases intersect in impossible ways, some inverted on the ceiling or at 90-degree angles. The castle's background seems to disappear into an endless dark abyss. It is a three-dimensional structure straight out of a geometric nightmare, where ordinary physics does not apply. How does it work? The entire castle operates under Nakime's absolute control through her musical instrument, the Biwa: Spatial Manipulation: By touching a string on her biwa, Nakime can instantly move, rotate, or rearrange any room, wall, or staircase. She can separate the hunters or unite them in a single room at will. Gravity Control: Nakime decides which surface functions as the ground. A character can stand on a wall or ceiling without falling, or be thrown into the void if she alters the gravity of that area. Teleportation Portals: The castle functions as a nexus to the human world. Nakime can open wooden doors anywhere in Japan to absorb people into the castle (as she did with the Pillars) or expel them wherever she chooses. Absolute Surveillance: Through small floating eyes that sprout from the walls (and later from her own body), Nakime sees and hears everything that happens in every corner of the labyrinth, acting as the brain of the place. If Nakime dies uncontrollably or loses control, the castle loses its molecular stability and collapses immediately, destroying itself and suddenly expelling everything inside to the surface.
the abilities of the other characters
Tanjiro Kamado: Uses Water Breathing and Sun Breathing (original and destructive style). He possesses a superhuman sense of smell to anticipate attacks. In this arc, he masters the Transparent World (seeing inside the opponent's body) and the Anonymous State, which erases his presence to make him undetectable. Zenitsu Agatsuma: Masters Lightning Breathing at godlike speeds. Creates Seventh Form: God of Blazing Thunder, a blinding and instantaneous electric dragon. His superhuman hearing allows him to predict movements by sensing the enemy's heartbeat. Inosuke Hashibira: Creator of Beast Breathing, a savage style wielding two blunted katanas. His superhuman sense of touch detects vibrations in the air to locate enemies. He possesses extreme flexibility, able to dislocate his joints at will to dodge or attack. Kanao Tsuyuri: Uses Flower Breathing. Her superhuman vision allows her to react to everything. With her final stance, Scarlet Lily Eyes, she raises her ocular blood pressure to see the world in slow motion, allowing her to dodge impossible attacks at the cost of damaging her eyesight. Genya Shinazugawa: He doesn't use breathing techniques. His ability is Demon Consumption: by eating demon flesh, he temporarily gains their strength and regeneration. He fights with a shotgun whose purifying metal bullets he can redirect in the air using the blood of the demon he ingested. Tamayo: Demon doctor. She uses blood spells with aromas that cause hallucinations and creates chemical drugs capable of aging, weakening, or transforming demons into humans. Yushiro: Demon assistant. He uses Paper Talismans that grant invisibility, share the field of vision between allies, and allow him to manipulate the nervous system and mind of other demons (key to controlling the castle).
Mitsuri breathing style
Mitsuri Kanroji (Breath of Love): Created by herself from the Breath of Fire. It utilizes Mitsuri's incredible muscle density and flexibility. She wields a whip-like, flexible sword, performing superhumanly fast cuts with acrobatic feats that protect and destroy colossal ranges.
art of replacing the pillars
- *Giyu Tomioka (Water Breathing): Based on fluid, flexible, and adaptable movements that mimic the flow of water. It allows for easy changes of stance for defense or attack. Giyu created a unique stance, the Eleventh Form: Calm , which neutralizes and deflects any enemy attack upon entering its range. Shinobu Kocho (Insect Breathing): A branch of Flower Breathing. Since Shinobu lacks the physical strength to decapitate demons, her style relies on high-speed thrusts and stabs, mimicking an insect's sting, to inject deadly wisteria poison through her modified sword. Gyomei Himejima (Rock Breathing): A highly defensive and offensive style that utilizes brute force and the ground. It focuses on massive and devastating strikes. Gyomei channels it uniquely using a spiked flail and an axe joined by a chain, destroying everything in its path. Sanemi Shinazugawa (Wind Breathing): A purely offensive, brutal, and savage fighting style. It mimics the destructive force of typhoons and whirlwinds. Sanemi generates cutting gusts of wind with his movements, launching continuous and ferocious attacks that leave the enemy breathless. Muichiro Tokito (Mist Breathing): Derived from Wind Breathing. It relies on rapid movements combined with drastic changes in pace and loose clothing to confuse the opponent's senses, simulating a thick fog. It makes the user appear slow in order to instantly reappear next to the enemy. Obanai Iguro (Snake Breathing): A branch of Water Breathing. It focuses on flexibility and precision. Its undulating katana traces sinuous and impossible trajectories that mimic the movement of a snake, allowing it to slither through minimal spaces and attack from unpredictable angles.
kaigaku demonic art style
Kaigaku's Blood Art corrupts Lightning Breathing, causing his cuts to fire black rays that continuously burn and crack the opponent's flesh. Second Form: Lightning Ball (Inadama): Unleashes a swift burst of five simultaneous arcing slashes wrapped in black electricity that strike in the blink of an eye. Third Stance: Thunder Swarm (Bummei Shidai): Generates spinning cuts in all directions, trapping the enemy in a sphere of black lightning that breaks their skin. Fourth Form: Distant Thunder (Ensei Raisen): Long-range attack. Launches a powerful vertical slash that fires a long-range linear black beam. Fifth Form: Liquid Ray (Keiretsu Fukki): A fluid upward slash that releases a massive discharge of electricity, opening wounds from the feet to the head. Sixth Form: Cosmic Thunderstorm (DengΕ Raigo): His most destructive technique. A storm of savage slashes from multiple directions bombard the enemy, tearing their flesh apart with the cracking effect. Note: Kaigaku was never able to learn the First Form (the basis of the style), which Zenitsu masters perfectly.
kokushibo art style
Kokushibo 's Demonic Blood Art merges directly with his ancestral swordsmanship, giving rise to Moon Breathing ( Tsuki no KokyΕ« ). Unlike other demons, his ability doesn't generate elements from nothing, but rather modifies his own flesh and empowers his cuts with mystical energy. His style is defined by three brutal characteristics: The Flesh Sword Kyogukamu: His katana is made from his own cells, bones, and veins. This allows him to instantly regenerate it if it breaks, change its shape, extend its length, and sprout multiple additional blades in the form of branches to cover more range. Crescent Moon Blades: Every time Kokushibo makes a cut with his sword, the air fills with hundreds of small crescent moon-shaped energy blades. These moons constantly change size, speed, and trajectory in a chaotic manner, making his attacks almost impossible to predict or completely dodge, as they tear through everything in their path. Monstrous Range and Amplitude: *By combining his breathing with his demonic art, Kokushibo can perform slashes that travel enormous distances, creating vortices, whirlwinds, and showers of crescent moons that destroy entire rooms in a single movement. Main Techniques (Forms): He possesses 16 forms in total. Among the most destructive within the Infinite Castle are:
- First Form: Dark Moon - Evening Palace: *A swift horizontal slash that fills the path with numerous floating crescent moons.
- Sixth Form: Solitary Moon in Perpetual Night: *Unleashes a storm of swift, vertical slashes forward that pulverize the surroundings.
- Seventh Form: Sinister Mirror - Moon's Glory: *Extends its sword and unleashes five massive, fan-shaped slashes that crack the ground at a distance.
- Fourteenth Form: Calamity - Tenman's Crescent Moon: Creates a gigantic vortex of intertwined slashes
demonic art style akaza
Akaza 's Blood Art is called Destructive Death ( Hakatsu ). It combines his physical strength with energy (ki) shockwaves generated by his blows. His technique is based on Compass Deployment ( Lushin ), a compass needle that activates beneath his feet and detects the opponent's "fighting spirit," allowing him to dodge and counterattack with mathematical precision. Here are all his combat techniques: Needle Style ( Kamuro ) / Crown Type: A powerful upward heel strike that generates a vertical shockwave to send the opponent flying. Flow Style / Setting Sun ( Shakki Ragan ): A flurry of rapid, consecutive punches that launch direct shockwaves at mid-range. Chaos Style ( Ranjinzitsu ): He strikes the air ferociously at blinding speed, firing dozens of simultaneous shockwaves that shatter everything in front of him. Piercing Style / Flash of Light ( Hassan Jin ): *A direct punch to the front that condenses energy into a single point, creating a massive line of impact and Piercing.
- Leg Style / Sky Splitter ( Yaza Waru ): *An incredibly fast and powerful downward axe kick, capable of splitting the ground and the opponent in half.
- Leg Style / Blue Willow Flow ( Ryusei Gen ): *A spinning upward kick that creates a shockwave barrier to deflect attacks and damage the enemy.
- Leg Style / Thousand Planet Flash ( Kamuro Shin ): *Launches flurries of fluid kicks upward, generating continuous shockwaves that strike from multiple angles.
- Crushing Style / Ten Thousand Willow Leaves ( Kishin Kutsuro ): *Strikes the ground with such force that it expands radial shockwaves in all directions, destabilizing and shattering the environment.
- Annihilation / Final Style ( Kushiki ): His most devastating attack. Akaza lunges forward, instantly unleashing hundreds of blows.
douma demonic art style
Here are all the Blood Art techniques of Doma *summarized to the point:
- Withering Fans ( Karesono ): *A flurry of consecutive slashes with her fans that creates blizzards of ice dust to freeze the air and lungs of the opponent.
- Ice Lotus ( Zakka ): *Creates several ice lotus flowers that launch razor-sharp frozen petals to tear the opponent apart.
- Scattered Lotus ( Sansen Reiki ): *A close-range attack that generates multiple blizzards in the shape of lotus petals that shred flesh on contact.
- Blizzard Princesses ( Iteza No Hina ): *Materializes two ice figures resembling women who blow gusts of extremely cold air, instantly freezing a huge area.
- Ice Stalagmites ( Tsurara No GΕ ): *Creates a rain of icicles and giant ice spears from the ceiling. or the air to impale enemies.
- Lotus Vine ( Kanjin Hazutsu ): *Generates a gigantic spiraling blizzard combined with ice lotus chains that trap, freeze, and shatter the opponent's body.
- Winter Icicles ( Enbaku No Rui ): *Fires multiple dense ice needles at high speed to pierce the enemy's vital points from a long distance.
- Crystal Lotus ( Suiren Bosatsu ): *His most powerful technique. Materializes a colossal ice Buddhist statue that attacks with its enormous hands and freezes everything around it by exhaling sub-zero blasts.
- Crystal Children ( KesshΕ No Miko ): Creates small ice clones of himself of almost identical power. They record battle data, communicate with Doma, and can use all of the above techniques autonomously.
