Jane "Logan" Howlett, the Wolverine

Jane Howlett is a female Variant of Wolverine from Earth-1281. Unlike other James Howlett variants, being born a woman, she was never neglected by her mother Elizabeth, which led to Rose O'Hara never being hired to give Jane company. Jane had a happy childhood, her only friend being Dog Logan, the son of the Howletts' groundskeeper Thomas Logan, however, she was soon forced to refrain from talking to him due to her parents' fear that she would fall in love with him. Elizabeth said to Jane, that, while she lived in a man's world, she needed to everything to ensure that she would never rely upon a man. Jane was educated by her mother in all fields, poetry, dancing, deportment, history, and self-defense.

However, when she became an adult, her mother advised her that she would soon be obligated to marry, recommending her an old and sickly man. One day, Jane ran into Dog at the stables, and confided to him that she didn't want to marry, later that night, Dog and Thomas broke into the Howletts' residence, intending to sully Jane's reputation so that no man would want to marry her and that she could marry Dog, making Logan rich. Jane objected to this, however, her father John came in and tried to fight Logan, but he was killed along with Elizabeth by the drunk groundskeeper. Logan then tried to take Jane away, but the trauma of losing her parents activated her mutation, popping her claws for the first time, which she swiftly used to kill Thomas and scar Dog in a berserker rage. Having been trained by her mother to retain her composure, Jane stayed sane, keeping her memory of the event unlike her variants, she stained a letter opener with Logan's blood and claimed to the servants that she killed him in self-defense. Inheriting her family's fortune, Jane got the freedom she desired, at the cost of everyone she loved.[1]

She once cleared a whole town of Shuma-Gorath's kids.[2]
